Popular Post King Heffy
Hell of a player, career and life both cut way too short. Class act both on and off the ice. 5 5 1 2
Popular Post bigbadcanucks
This makes me very sad. Makes me realize how fast life moves by you. I grew up watching the Habs dynasty followed by the Islander dynasty. Mike Bossy...Clark Gillies. Two giants of the NHL to be lost and lost already. I loved the way the Islander team was constructed. They could beat you with skill and beat you with their fists. They don't get the type of historical respect they deserve. Especially Mike Bossy. Just echoing @Elias Pettersson...Mike Bossy was the greatest goal scorer I've ever seen in my lifetime. Amen, brother. The closest thing might be Ovechkin, but Bossy could score from anywhere and at any distance. Nine straight seasons of 50 or more goals (and five of those he scored 60 or more) before slumping in his injury-riddled final season when he only scored 38. Altogether Bossy scored 573 goals in ten seasons. When Ovechkin completed his 10th season, he had scored 475. That Bossy was able to score so often despite the goon tactics used to defend him says to me he is the greatest natural goal scorer I've ever seen. 5 4
4petesake
Terrible news. One of the all time greats and as pure a goal scorer as I have ever seen. Just as fine a person as he was a player. Glad to hear he has some time to spend in his family’s arms. I’ll never forget this heartbreaker, nor will big Harold. 2

HKSR
Sad that these legends are passing on. These guys were ones that you know played for the love of the game. The NHL wasn't a business then, it was all about the Stanley Cup.
Ghostsof1915
Never heard about palliative care until my Dad went in Nanaimo General. Wonder if it should be called the Hotel California. I'm glad he's with his family. I hope he's not in agony though.
Popular Post Elias Pettersson
So sorry to hear that Mike Bossy is in palliative care battling lung cancer. Popular Post Harvey Specter
It is very heartbreaking to hear. Mike Bossy played in an era before I started watching hockey but he was the epitome of a goal-scorer. Just being able to watch select highlights that have stood the test of time demonstrated how talented he was at scoring goals. For my generation, we have human highlight-reel Ovechkin (equally a big fan) but Bossy did it in a "goon-it-up" league in his time. All the very best to Bossy, his family, and friends, and may he find continual peace. Cancer sucks 3 2

johngould21
Probably the best pure goal scorer ever to play the game. Clark Gillies, now #22 as well. 2
