He's been on a medical leave of absence since late November - in his press release he mentions that he is stepping down to focus on his health and recovery.

"Finally, I want to thank everyone who has reached out during my leave of absence. While I have made great progress over the last several months, I feel it is in the best interest of the organization and myself to step down from my current duties and focus on my health and full recovery. I look forward to continuing my career in the NHL in the future."

Wow, he had an amazing career as a player and then again as a GM. Read the link, I did. I had forgotten his achievements, truly  an ‘All Star’ despite the last few seasons. For all the ‘show me what ya got now’ dissuaders, what a career. I don’t know what his health issues are but he is a winner and I wish him all the best.

It is ok.

I just tried to give my opinion.

I think he was a poor GM, "imo"; in my opinion, he was a better defenseman than a GM.

Oh. Okay. I disagree but to each his own
