Nice to see some success and promise with the prospects. But damn, this organization has absolutely been brutal at drafting and developing D.

Gotta credit JB here, at the time of the trade a lot of folks wrote him off as a throwaway

He had misses but he had some hits too, with Lammikko likely being the last one

For sure. In the end there were lots of good things JB did. His downfall though, was when he missed and erred, he missed and erred with a big old Casey at bat whiff.

It's nice to have him in, but people need to temper their expectations.

Yes, he set a record for rookie scoring, but Pettersson originally set that record as a 19 year old, Karlsson at 22, set a record for goals, but he wasn't a point per game person like Pettersson was, 3 years younger.

My expectation is, that Karlsson will develop into a dependable middle 6 guy who gets second unit powerplay time because of his shot.

This is definitely good news.  If somebody like Linus could take the roster spot of Pearson on his ELC we could potentially free up even more cap without a major drop in ability.

Hows that going to happen?  Pearson was one of the most valuable members of the team this past season.
