Popular Post -Vintage Canuck-
Details: Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that the club has signed forward Linus Karlsson to an entry-level contract. "We are excited to officially welcome Linus to Vancouver," said Allvin. "He is a good goal scorer who plays a solid two-way game, and he is coming off an impressive rookie season in Sweden. We look forward to seeing him develop his game in North America." Karlsson, 22, appeared in 52 games with Skellefteå AIK of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) last season, leading the team in goals (26) and ranking second in overall scoring with 46 points (26-20-46). His point total also ranked ninth league-wide and first among all SHL rookies, earning him the honours of the SHL Rookie of the Year. He also skated in six playoff games with Skellefteå AIK, contributing one assist. Previously, Karlsson spent three seasons in the HockeyAllsvenskan league, registering 109 points (39-70-109) across 152 regular season games split between Karlskrona HK and BIK Karlskoga. He also collected 18 points in 17 postseason Allsvenskan games. A native of Eksjö, Sweden, Karlsson has also represented his country on the international stage on multiple occasions, totalling 11 points (4-7-11) and six penalty minutes in 15 games. The 6'1", 178-pound forward was originally selected by San Jose in the third round, 87th overall at the 2018 NHL Entry draft and was acquired by Vancouver via trade on February 25, 2019. https://www.nhl.com/canucks/news/canucks-sign-linus-karlsson-to-elc/c-334327386 15 2 2 1

Kobayashi Maru
Nice to get that done. I think he could be a good player for us soon. Any chance he makes the Canucks out of camp or is he pretty much confirmed to start in the AHL?

AngryElf
Let’s go!! Good luck to him. I just hope he can come in and bring the standard of training camp up like Gaudette a few years ago.

Popular Post CRAZY_4_NAZZY
Eliteprospects has him listed as 6'1'' and 197 lbs. He has grown since his draft year listed at 6'0'' and 179 lbs. I'm excited about his offense, but very curious to see how his defensive game is and whether his skating can hold up on a smaller ice surface. He needs to work on separation speed. 3 1

True, but never a bad thing to have a tall, right handed center who was rookie of the year in the SHL (and beat Petey's numbers, granted a few years older) in the stable. Let's hope he can be an effective NHL'er and on of JB's trades will have worked out. Edited May 26, 2022 by NucknAsia 1 1

grumpyone
whose spot does he take if he make the big club? if he is indeed a 3rd line player, then playing with Bo ?
Industrious1
Does it seem like he'll have the jam to do the 3rd line C role if he gets a shot with the big club? Tends to be a pretty physical position.
