No such thing as a Stanley Cup hangover with Tampa Bay

At what point do you get tired of winning?

The amount of sacrifice and hard work you need to put in each year to make it to the show and then once you're in, compete in the playoffs is pretty amazing when it comes to the Lightning.

There is always tough situations, injuries and your patience is tested but you fight through all the obstacles to win the greatest prize.

It's really a testament to the Tampa players that in the modern era with a lot of elite teams, how far they can test those boundaries and challenge themselves.

In situations like this when they were down 2-0 to the Rangers, honestly could've just folded and thrown in the towel. They won 2 straight cups anyways, made it to the conference finals for the third straight year so whatever right? Even if they end up losing the series, they still accomplished what other teams could never accomplish.

I think it shows the drive and mental strength of the players to keep wanting to win despite everything they've already achieved.

Reminds me of why I love hockey.

Only my dream that we could someday construct a team like this.

Done my fanboying now.

Thank you lol.

I hate to say it but I think I'm on the Rags bandwagon. Never thought I would be but so far this playoffs I think Ive enjoyed watching their games the most. Not really cheering for any team in particular just that their games have been entertaining. So I want to watch more of them.

Their two cups were won on shortened seasons.  A big part of the Stanley Cup hangover is accumulated fatigue and they really didn’t have it as bad because of the way the last two seasons went.  Having some of their stars on LTIR for extended periods also helped with some of the issues of accumulated fatigue.
They are just good too.

I didn't cheer for Tampa Bay for their last two cups, nor the first one, but I'm impressed by their current run this year.  It's not an easy thing to get to the Stanley Cup finals three years in a row in the salary cap era.  They haven't got there yet, but it's looking more and more likely.  Of course it will be no picnic to play the Avs when they get there but I'll be cheering them on.

And cue the "How do you know a CDCer was not a Canucks fan in 1994?"  lol

I'm sorry, but I hate the NYR more than almost any team in the league.

Yeah, I could never cheer for the NYR again.  I even remember the news broadcaster interviewing fans in NY City.  The question was asked "What do you think a Canuck is?"  The answer from the fan with a typical NY accent... "It means LOSER!"

I don't know what you mean?

Just because I have let go of my hatred of the Rags doesn't mean I was ever not a Canuck fan. When Marchand retires I'll let go of my hate for Boston too.

I just want to watch good hockey.
