Carolina should be all over this.

Andersen has been better than Gibson and both him and Raanta are under contract another year.  They also combine for only 100K more than what Gibson makes.

I could see Anahiem trying to pry a 2023 1st round pick out of some team. even straight up, or a 1st plus a mediocre back up. Anahiem gets a goalie plus a 2nd 1st round pick next year to try to move up in the draft for you-know-who.

This rumour is interesting, partially due to Gibson only having a 10-team no-trade list. It's carefully worded to show he hasn't "asked" for a trade, but it "open" to it. But even if he wasn't, they could still trade him (and probably should do it, if they feel they're still a few years away from truly competing).

It's either a smoke-show, or someone trying to get wheels turning...

I can see Edmonton trying this with puljujarvi

More if Anaheim retains

Anaheim doesn’t want or need Puljujarvi.

They have way better prospects coming up.

If a team wants Gibson it would likely take a stud goalie prospect coming back like a Wallstedt or an Ukko-Pekka Luukonen.
