Just wanted to get my proposal in before the endless Pearson Myers and a 1st stuffs Canucks re-sign Boeser 3 year $6.35 million. Trade one. Canucks trade Miller 50% retained to Philly for pick 5 pick 69 and Cam Atkinson (cap dump). Trade 2. Canucks trade Pick 5 and Boeser to Columbus for picks 6-12 and 109 Trade 3: Canucks trade Pearson and pick 109 to Arizona for pick 35 Canucks pick at 6: Jiricek/Nemec if available. if not, Savoie/Nazar Canucks pick at 12: Gauthier/Lekkerimaki if available. if not, Mintyukov/Geekie Canucks pick at 15: Geekie/Miroshnichenko if available. if not, McGroarty/Ohgren Canucks pick at 35: Reid Schaefer Canucks pick at 80: Noah Warren And so on and so forth until the draft is voer. Ya, lots of moving pieces. 3 big ol trades and a lot would have to go absolutely positively right for this to happen but, whatever. You're taking 69 goals out of the line up and replacing them with Atkinson's 23. How long are we projected to suck for until the drafted players can replace that production? No, he is not a proverbial cap dump in the truest sense of the word. but he's also almost 34, has kind of a history with torts that is not exactly glowing as torts rode him like a stolen pony. added the flyers have barely $5 million in cap space right now and Fletch is apparently swinging for the fences. Atkinson out frees up just over $5 million in cap space and is replaced by Miller for the year. There is also Olle Lycksell, Elliott Desnoyers and Allison Wade who will be trying to make the team next year. So while not a true cap dump in the truest sense of the word, He would be far easier to trade than JVR and would garner a better return doing it. In fairness if JVR had an additional year at his $7 million cap I would have suggested him over atkinson.
