This is exactly it. People are praising JR/Allvin like they've done something revolutionary. Not really. They've been given carte blanche to modify the team. That's all. And so far, we've only signed two free agents, both of which are not NHL proven. We have some new staff, but that's about it. The roster has remained the same. It's illogical to praise the new management which has done little to modify the NHL roster itself.

Seems like people were just simply headhunting.

Seems to me like we should be giving them a bit of space and time.  Lets see what unfolds over the summer (draft, free agency including RFAs).  No more (JB like) reactionary moves. time will tell …

A bit of a promotion....

Starts at the 50 second mark  Ryan Johnson; Abbotsford Canucks General Manager but as of last weak, he is also promoted to assistant to the Canuck's General Manager, Patrick Alvin. Talks about the Avs winning the cup and how that group was put together over years. We will be evaluating every thing. He's exited about making the Vancouver Canucks better and one where they can get to where Colorado was last night. Excited about development camp, been a while. Talks about Jim Rutherford .............Much more.

He said all the right things in the interview but just like Allvin & other junior executives - they will (still) be leaning heavily, on JR: ON WHEN TO MAKE A MOVE OR NOT cause some people just have it, whilst, most of the time it is a skillset, that can still be learned through experience & mentoring.   JR despite his mistakes as an NHL executives - just knows how to deliver/win, at the NHL level.  Currently, we are still waiting for the big dominoes to fall but how they executed, the small moves are quite refreshing.   The draft is less than two weeks away and the hiring of Tallon, has me speculating that the market for our players are growing ? - Just have to wait & see..

I’ll say that Ryan Johnson can pretty much say nothing but still come across as much more engaging than Patrick “Energy Vampire” Allvin. Though I have to admit that our AGM has probably been getting some media training because he hasn’t been quite as sleep inducing as he was early on.

RJ is destined for big things in the upper management world methinks.

I’ll take Allvin over Benning.

Tallon was a weird hire. But he’s a pro scout for the Canucks right?

It’ll be interesting what the current management group is doing. They’ve been very quiet, nothing coming out of any of the people on the inside. Dahliwal has to guess most of the time “what I am hearing…”

Well, they made a few minor moves so far - traded away Motte for a 4th round pick. Traded for Dermott. Won the Kuzmenko sweepstakes (about time we won something, we lost just about every NCAA collegiate free agent that was “rumored” to sign with us, but then signs with another team). So I’m &^@#ing glad we won Andrei.

Now, it’s time for the Miller domino to fall. Which way will it fall? My gut tells me that he’s gone by the draft. Bo will be signed before the summer ends to a long term contract (8 years) to a reasonable deal that will cost a lot less than whatever Miller is demanding.

Good points and let's see if your scenarios plays out.  My speculation: Allvin sells on anyone above 26 yrs that will require a big cap to retain.

Above 26? You mean players like Pearson? Myers? Poolman?
