Alflives
No thanks. Too old for us. Curious what he gets on the open market though. Teams looking at him might think Myers is a better option, after considering the contract. 2

Master Mind
I like Klingberg but he isn't a fit for us, and will likely be overpaid in free agency. 1
Coconuts
If he didn't want what Dallas was offering with their friendly tax bit going there's no way we'd get him cheap
Mustard Tiger
Watch Edmonton ditch Barrie and throw 8.5 x 7 at this guy lol
HKSR
If you are looking for offence from the back end, then Klingberg is your guy. If you are looking for defence from the back end, then Klingberg is not your guy. 1
higgyfan
Show me the money!!!!!! Wonder how Dallas fans are feeling about losing him for nothing in return.
Odd.
This has Oilers written all over it. I literally cannot see a team that would pay this guy 8.5M. Either he signs something like that with the Oilers, or he’s probably going to wait for awhile before he realizes he’s not worth what he’s asking for
-AJ-
Probably gonna get paid big. He's good, but not as good as he was a few years ago. Probably a #2 guy at best, maybe a #3. Also turning 30 in August, so while he could still have several years of good hockey left, he's at that 30-year old mark.

Provost
Good friends with OEL and we have the Swedish mafia in the front office… if there was a good deal to be had ($7.5 million x 6 years) we could easily find a spot for him as we have one of the lowest producing back ends in the league. A lot easier to find a complementary defensive LD than it is to find a guy of Klingberg’s quality. It would mean getting rid of Myers first and using his cap hit for the upgrade. Not worth blowing our brain out on it though. Almost everyone is a good pick up at the right cap hit.
kanucks25
He would be a fit but it'll be a bloated UFA contract. Even if we could dump Myers first it still doesn't make sense. OEL - Klingberg would be a fun pairing but it definitely wouldn't look fun on the salary cap. Stay away. No signing 30 year old free agents to big contracts.

That isn’t true at all. They explicitly said repeatedly that not all new players are goi be to be in that under 25 range and that they are open to signing older veterans if the price and term is right to make the team better. I'd think so, its basically going home for him. 1
