ShawnAntoski
So far, Dach is in the Alexandre Daigle category along with Laff & Kakko of the Rags - all they have is there draft pedigree cause when playing against NHL players they are not very special players, at all. But who knows cause they are all still young and maybe a change of scenery for Dach with a rebuilding team - might offer more opportunities to grow & showcase his talent. Regardless, kudos to Gorton & Hughes and this is what I hoped the Canucks would had done when they hired Linden & JB.

After being buried in the depth charts on a sub sub par Hawks team I think he's gonna blow some people away in short order 1

For a 3rd OA pick his production is underwhelming and I still believe Chi sold high on him but Hughes can gamble in this draft cause of the multiple lottery tickets he has in the first two rounds. He’s a star in the making. 1

canuck73_3
Quicker turnaround than I thought on the table for the Habs. Much better than what was being done with Bergevin.

Not surprising, this deal happened between these two teams John Davidson, not Kyle Davidson, worked with Gorton. He was hired out of Columbus where he was president of hockey ops. He's now back with CBJ at the same position.

Nave
I thought drafting Slafkovsky over Wright was questionable from a Canadiens perspective (although I secretly wanted Slaf to go to the Devils), but when they pulled off this trade I was blown away. Got the most intriguing winger in the draft, and a center who still has a lot of potential. It was an unreal moment cause it happened during the Kraken's pick, so Canadiens fans clearly thought they pulled off a trade for 4th overall to get Wright. N7Nucks
Quite the gamble by the Canadiens. Gotta appreciate the stones of it. They got way bigger and younger. Dach is still super young with immense upside. Slafkovsky is also a very interesting big body. Interesting team to watch going forward.
WHL rocks
Canucks should have been all over this trade to try get Dach. Should have offered 15th overall and Höglander. Big body 6'4 21 year old RHC. We desperately need a guy like him. Play him at 3C and PK and double shift in top 6 a few shifts per game. Let him develop into a guy like Philip Danault. EP Horvat Dach down the middle. Sick C depth. Oh my... what could have been. He was rushed in to the NHL by Chicago. They should have left him in the minors just for 1 solid season of development. On a team like the Canucks in their cycle he'd develop so nicely. I would have been ecstatic and do 15th OA plus Höglander without a second thought. Acquiring Dach would have set this team up wonderfully longterm. You don't get many chances to get this type of young player. Especially a C with his body size and ability at the price he went for... This is one that this new management team missed big time. Huge miss imo. Should have been all over it.. ohh my ... what could have been..

WHL rocks
What a trade by Kent Hughes. Alvin needs a couple of steals like this. Edited November 19, 2022 by WHL rocks

Honestly, THAT is how you host an NHL draft I agree sir. I agree

So far that Dickenson trade was a charitable gift rather than a steal.
