Popular Post Devron
Honestly for the human aspect of it I hope he has his crap finally figured out. For the Oilers I wish them nothing but the worst 1 1 9 8 1

BPA
Oilers still need a starting goalie and a better defence.
ilduce39
Good for him. Oilers really embraced him, warts and all. Nice to see him show a little loyalty. 1 1

amplified0ne
Probably very few teams were willing to offer any term given his previous track record. No one knows if the end of last year is the norm or an aberration, but good for him.

-AJ-
Big value, but his reputation almost certainly lowered the cost. If he can avoid being a locker room cancer, this could be insane value for the Oilers.
mll
The contract can still be annulled pending the outcome of the grievance hearing. If Kane wins the grievance his SJS contract will be re-instated (3 x 7M) and he'll be SJS property. They can trade him to Edmonton but will probably have to retain the difference. 2

Seems like they are anticipating this with essentially the same total dollar
