flickyoursedin
I’m bored so here we go! Keeping Miller and going for a cup this year and severely shortening our window. Trade Pearson to LA for a 2nd round pick save 3.5 million in cap space. Trade Myers to Dallas for a 2nd round pick so they can replace Klingberg and save 6 million in cap space. Trade Boeser to the Pens for Marino, Poulin and a 2nd round pick save a little over 2 million here. Trade Hoglander, Dermott for Nic Hague (bridge deal around 3 million) Sign Kadri (4 years 7 million per), Rodriguez (3 years 3 million per), Steel (1 year 850k) and Pk Subban (1 year 2mill) Kadri Pettersson Podkolzin Mikeyev Miller Garland Rodriguez Horvat Kuzmenko Dickinson Lazar Steel Poulin Hughes Schenn OEL Marino Hague Subban Rathbone Poolman Demko Martin Plan the parade! I was just messing around to give something different into these boards but I kinda like this lineup lol. Definitely too much going on as no team moves this many pieces over the course of a single off-season. Anyway it’s all typed out so flame away.
-AJ-
No chance Kadri goes for that cheap on that short a deal.

Agreed, now that he's won a cup all he's gonna do now is secure as a big a bag as he can and set himself up til retirement. Unless he somehow re-signs with the Avs to chase another one, which seems unlikely given the Avs cap scenario.

grumpyone
I read on Twitter this morning that Calgary has offered Kadri 7 years @ $9.5 schmillion per Talk about a desperate offer!

Cowpies are all in with this (aging) core. They only had three picks at the draft, and their prospect pool is empty. Kadri used his no trade clause to refuse a trade to Calgary when Dubas tried to ship him there. So the dollars would need to be an insane amount for him to accept Calgary. He could cash in there. NewbieCanuckFan
Don’t care to acquire said player but bid him up if for no other reason to make the Avs pay more to re-up him. Strengthen the Canucks by weakening your enemies.

What other teams offer in that scenario would be largely meaningless

Kadri says, sorry, but I really believe I'm worth more than that if I'm moving to another city, especially one with a much steeper tax bracket than what I'm paying now. Any GM that can make those moves as you said should win GM of the Decade. I doubt anyone is going acquire either Pearson or Myers for a 2nd round pick. 3rd and 4th possible but 2nd isn't happening. Kadri is probably maxing out his value in his next contract. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets something crazy like 7 years x 9.5 Million. He was at one point last season was on pace to have McDavid like points. Edited July 15, 2022 by iinatcc
