Canuckfanforlife82
I am still confused as to what management wants our team to be. They haven’t really put a mark on it. They have gotten faster and more feisty but the top 6 seems redundent. I really wish we had a Tkatchuk/Kane in there to change the look. We are a bit small and easy to play against. The defense still needs a lot of work. I guess the money Benning spent on non impact players has really screwed us for a while. I just want to know what direction the team is headed in. Anyone care to explain the teams identity. A work in progress with this new management is my best guess. 1 2
Popular Post mikeyman109
The team does have an identity. Its a soft forward group with a suspect Defense and a championship caliber goalie. Thats their current identity. Thats the identity the management team claimed to want to change. I just havent seen a move that would change that yet. I hope it happens. 1 1 1
Popular Post Heretic
We have an identity. We're known as mediocre. 1 1 3 1 1 1
Popular Post Devron
An identity is created on the ice. I thought we had a pretty damn good team the last half of the season. We’ve improved our forward group and now we need to improve our defensive group. What’s the big deal? 4
Alflives
Was it Bieksa last year who said the Canucks’ identity is as a really “fun team to play against”. 1

If you don’t make the playoffs does it matter? It’s great and all people keep bringing the last half of last year up but if they had played hard the whole year they would have made the playoffs. That first part of the year was horrible and the same team. It’s says a lot about the weak mentality this team had. Not great. You could easily say it could happen again this season as well. You can’t just look at part of the year and say that’s our team, the first part was the same team as well. Dr. Jeckle and Hyde. Risky.

When the players don’t buy what the coach is selling you have a big problem. When a coach doesn’t put his star players in a position to succeed you have a confidence problem. Think of it this way. Put yourself in the players shoes, Green and Baumgartner are telling you how to play the game. Just think about that for a second
48MPHSlapShot
Super deep (but small) forward group, great starting goalie, and one of the worst Ds in the league. Whatever you want to call that, that's our identity. I like the term "glass canon" myself.

Well I think the problem was they were trying to listen to him. I think they liked them as people. What they were selling just wasn’t working. It was probably exhausting doing the same things over and over expecting different results

It’s just hard to come back with basically the same team year after year and say let’s try again. No we definitely need to improve the defence core. Coaching was a huge step. Forward group looks great. Need a little more depth for injuries. Right side defence is a huge hole right now. Takes time my friend 1
Muttley
Not until we improve the defense. Might just take one guy, maybe two. The forward group as is, very talented but needs more snarl to match the best teams. Having said that though, Boudreau will have the team from the start this go-round. If anyone can create a better, more suitable identity, it's him. We want to be known as a team plays hard for 60 minutes. One that doesn't give much up. One that doesn't quit.

NUCKER67
Hate to say it, but there's also another eastern Canadian team with a real good offence and poor D. Thank goodness the Canucks have Demko. 1

Popular Post -DLC-
Our fans sure do: "woe is me/us" with a little Eeyore "oh bother" mixed in for good measure. I feel like our team's identity is one of resilience and fortitude. If we'd stayed the same AFTER Bruce arrived, sure. But clearly this team is building an identity...they just had to be given enough leash (and support) to do so. People here exercise NO patience in a "want it all and want it now" deal. Petey's injury was a factor...let the dust settle for awhile. LOL, I've seen it SO much worse and there are a lot of things to be excited about with this group. Some here spend all their time focusing on the negative. I've avoided commenting recently as it's just not worth it but I will go down swinging for my team. 2 7
