Whoh, hold on a 5’6” winger isn’t going to get us a #1 RHD? Heresy. 1

Seattle wanted to add scoring and had cap space but if that spot is filled than it doesn't leave many options. Quite a few teams look to have cap space but have to sign their RFAs. They weren’t exactly the best defensive team. The -35 isn’t all in him. He produced offensively and gave the team a chance to win on many nights.

That cap clearing was because of Laine. If the somehow got Tketchup as well, that would be a coup. They would have one of the best top lines in all of the NHL. I doubt it though. Harold Drunken
Good deal for Seattle, they suddenly look pretty deep up front. Edited July 22, 2022 by Harold Drunken

I now hope they become a relevant team in the Western Conference. I’d love a rivalry with Seattle if they were competing to win against the Nucks on game per game basis. Calgary is no longer relevant as a rival, maybe Seattle is their replacement.

Seems like an awfully good player to trade because you signed Gudbranson. I guess it was a package deal with Johnny.

rekker
Bjork with one or two more points than Laine over the last three years. Sold Bjork way too low, signed Laine way to high. Is JB behind the curtain in Columbus?

Master Mind
I figured Nyquist would be the cap casualty, but I guess it was too expensive to move him. Hurts to see Seattle get a good deal.

HighOnHockey
I mean, as bad as it looks for Columbus, if you look at it from a different angle, they added picks to replace Bjorkstrand with Gaudreau... Of course they could have got a lot more value for Bjorkstrand under different circumstances, but apparently didn't realize signing Gaudreau would be a realistic option until right before it happened.
