Florida is south yes but 9.5 down south is worth North of 10 mil up north right?! 1

You know, cap certainty is a big deal with these deals. The sign and trade is vital. Teams may like Miller but won't pay much for 1 year having no idea what the future holds. This at least takes a big step to set a market price for Miller with his next contract. Maybe the Canucks talk with JT about this angle.

mll
Florida now above the cap by some 3.3M with 22 players. They don't have a 2nd buyout window so will need to move someone out.

He’s a pretty good impact player. But he’s slow footed, got pumped up by Johnny, and has been underwhelming at best in the playoffs when it matters. He’s a great top line winger but generational? Come on. Calgary smoked them in that trade. You would figure Huber plus a first to make up for the age gap.. then they threw in a top tier d.. maybe ufa status brings down their value.. Yup, this doesn't drive down Miller's potential ask as much as people would like when taxes are factored in

This is a lot to pay for someone that hit 100 points once and the guy that helped him do it isn't on this team. But hey, Tkachuk at least brings more than just points. I am a closet Panthers fan, so I am excited to see how he fits. That's ok, he doesnt need Gadreau to help him get to 100 points when he's playing with Huberde..... Nevermind. How good are they going to look once they move out Verghaege, Bennett, or Duclair go be cap compliant? Random example, but: Huberdeau, Weegar, Bennet, 1st round pick >>>>> Just Tkachuck. Florida is going to be in the $&!#ter in the near future with Barkov, Tkachuck, and Bobrovsky getting bank, but not having any first round picks in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025

Too much emotional baggage from when he entered the prospect combine. Heartbreaking.

But, I am guessing things weren't going well in the Huberdeau contract discussions. Otherwise, why move him? Tkachuk for 8 years >>>>>>>1 year of Huberdeau a glorified 2nd rounder, and Weegar who also might be looking to cash in more than they'd like. Throwing in Bennett seems a little unfair given we have no clue who they'll move out for cap.
