First Star of the Month: This was literally a three way race..and with an amazing performance from the Blueline: Matt Grzelcyk!!!!! Third Star: Of course none other than Evgeni Malkin. (80 points) Honourable mentions to ((so glad I made this trade)) Juuso Parssinen (65 points) and Andre Burakovsky (63 points) Quote Well, it is Keven Fiala's fourth appearance in a row in the three star's, so that speaks for itself right there. Malkin has made it in back to back months now, as expected, and the fourth consecutive month a Dman has made the cut for the top three, although this is Matt's first appearance. We are a big fan of Kubalik and were happy to see a resurgence in him this season, however we felt it was necessary to acquire another top 4 Dman for our playoff run and we are hoping to see Ekholm get deal IRL to a contender. If not then we have picked up a solid dman on our back end to compliment a pairing with Adam Larsson as a shutdown pair against other teams top lines. Happy to have him, never wanted to move him. We'd like to wish Phillipp and Alex success in their upcoming playoff run with the Devils. In a season derailed by injuries, the Kings are pleased to welcome some more youth the organization - we targeted both Luostarinen (24) and Kaut (23) early in our talks as we think both players have big futures in the league, and Frasca is a bit of a wild-card but as he's unsigned we were willing to gamble on him. While we have issues at the NHL level due to injuries, we believe that our depth in the minors is beginning to burst and we're excited to see some of these guys graduate as soon as next year. As the deadline approaches, the Kings have plenty of cap-space, a few open roster spots at the NHL level, and a willingness to move some more playoff-bound pieces. Adam Lowry, Dylan DeMelo and Saku Maenelainen (WPG) remain available, and we're willing to listen on nearly anybody not named Kaiden Guhle, Matt Coronato and Simon Nemec.
