timberz21
I don't think moving 5 roster players + Ferland in one trade is realistic. I'm not sure how many players Arizona have under contract but they are capped at 50 like everybody, not sure they can take that much player without having to bury some of they players in the minors. They are rebuilding, they need to find icetime for their young players, can't field a roster full of other teams cap dump.
Alflives
Alf likes this A LOT, especially if we immediately move Nylander somewhere, ANYWHERE, for a right shot D. Wake up JR! Time to get ‘er done!

kloubek
What's the point in moving Ferland? He's going straight to LTIR anyway.

But their cap hit also added in. So it doesn’t create any cap space. If he was moved to Toronto his cap hit would be added to their total cap. Then, depending on how close they were with his cap hit to the ceiling. They would be allowed to exceed the cap by that much. If they weren’t right at the cap limit prior to him going on LTIR they wouldn’t even be able to exceed the cap by the full amount of his cap hit. Taking the cap dump that is Kerfoot for the LTIR of Ferland clears 3.5 mil for the LOSER LEAFS tjat they can then go over the cap.
Bobby James
Leafs say no to this. Even Miller for Nylander 1 for 1 they may not agree to, but it could be closer. Doesn't sound like Nylander was an issue for them last year or in the playoffs lately. More likely they want to move out John T in the next year or two to avoid that contract killing them in the final years.
