[Proposal] Van - CBJ (Yes, another Miller trade)

Recommended Posts

Good day all,

I've seen lots of proposals with these two teams lately, and honestly after how free agency has played out they seem like great partners, so here is my attempt:

Van trades:

JT Miller

CBJ trades:

Corson Ceulemans

Cole Sillinger

Why CBJ does it: I mean it's pretty obvious that CBJ has decided its time to compete. They went all in on Werenski last year and this year got Gaudreau and Laine signed long term but they have no top end center (sorry Roslovic)

Why Van does it: I mean, to me that seems like we are fleecing Kekäläinen. Sillinger is a big goal scoring center and Ceulemans is a physical, mobile puck moving RHD with good size and both are only 19.

Flame away

And yes, I know CBJ most likely just laughs and hangs up but you never know what they might be willing to pay for an elite center for their wingers. I'd like to ask for Jiricek or Johnson but let's try and keep this semi-realistic, also those two players may make the two I'm suggesting more expendable.

Let me know what you think or how you'd like to see it modified.

The trouble is Cap space

Also they have Boone Jenner as their #1 C, I think?

They also have Texier, Roslovic, Johnson and Sillinger

So, I can see one of their centers being available, but again, that Cap!

I think Ceulemans would be available

I think Jenner, Sillinger and Johnson are no goes

"IF" they had cap...............Texier, Ceulemans and a 2023-1st is what I would like

But I can't see them clearing 8 Million in cap

Fair enough, I'd be ok with your proposal as long as the 1st isn't lottery protected, what if Van added Pearson and CBJ adds Voracek to your proposal? Makes it basically an even money deal, gives CBJ this year to make additional moves to make JT's extension work and Van could probably leverage the cap dump in to another pick as well. And Voracek isn't a bad player just overpaid.

It'd still make Horvats extension difficult but Voracek would come off the books the same time as Dickinson and Myers in time for Petey and Podkolzin's extensions.

Ceulemans is a good target. Probably not getting Sillinger, but him, another prospect outside their top 3-4, and a pick is very realistic.

Only taking Voracek if Sillinger or Johnson are part of the deal. That's 8.25M for 2 years. I'd take on the whole 8.25 if we could get the below deal. Highly unlikely though

To Van: Ceulemans, Sillinger or Johnson, Voracek & 2023 1st

To CBJ: Miller & Pearson, maybe a 2025 4th

Alf’s eyes are struggling to focus, as they do every morning after a night’s debauch, but what he’s seeing here he definitely likes.  The best way to maximize the return on Miller is to take a cap dump in the deal.  Getting Johnson would be excellent!

This proposal is a beauty!

Nap time is over JR.

Wake up and Get ‘er done! :frantic:
