Every time I have taken my son to games, and he tries to get autographs, Cristall has had such a prima donna attitude; like he's a superstar already or something. And, the rest of the players are his grunts, while fans are just peons. Huge character red flags in my opinion.

That is definitely very telling. We do not need a player like that.

If San Jose falls in the draft lottery, I can see them being a match made in heaven for ASP. Imagine him learning under Erik Karlsson! I wouldn't be surprised if they took ASP. Many considered the Bystedt pick to be a reach last summer, and that's turned out pretty okay for them.

Also, I think Honzek could end up being a major steal for whoever takes him. He definitely deserves to be in the top-15 conversation. Like Bystedt, I think he'll make lots of teams slap themselves for not taking him, albeit he'll be a higher pick in the end. Rightfully so, Stevie Y has been keeping a keen eye on him...

I'd be pretty furious if we had a chance at Michkov and didn't take it.

i have a feeling several GMs will pass on taking Michkov

Too much risk IMO, lots going on at home I'm sure, the war, recently lost his father, who knows how he'll adjust to that. Smallish winger and he's not playing in the U18. Good on the team that takes him if he can live up to the hype.

What hype he's basically the only player who could compete with Bedard for 1st OA and it's like he doesn't exist. the only hype is he's put up the best numbers of any Russian prospect ever but no body talks about him.

His name may as well be Bruno.

and he's not available until 2026 I believe...

I imagine some of you young ones don't remember but Jaromir Jagr was not suppose to be available, yet when his name was called at the 1990 draft by Pittsburg, low and behold, Jagr strutted down to the podium and put on his Penguin jersey...............true story!

The rest is history!

The Canucks called Petr Nedved at #2

Jagr was called at # 5

Another painful day in Canucks history!

Nedved was a helluva player and had already defected to Canada at that point.  There was a lot of uncertainty around Jagr

Cold war context is a big thing prior to the early 90's

Yes, I agree, but my point is, you never know! Stranger things have happened. Putin will take money from anywhere now! (Joke)

At that time players would go to international tournaments and defect. I wonder if Michkov and his family came to the draft if there would be any chance of that happening. Just thinking out loud. Us landing Michkov would be amazing.

Edit Even if we have to wait 3 years.

If we drafted him, he would be deported for sure!

well, there'sno need to "defect" as there are no travel restrictions on Russians, that I know of.  He is, however, under contract for the near future and there's no trnsfer agreement between the KHL and NHL, so I supose he could walk away from hos contract, if he wanted to.........can anyone confirm that?

Ugh, that's a small thing but I hope we don't draft him because of that and also the fact that he's a winger.

Just as I expected, ASP's stock is gonna rise after this tourney.

I really hope it does and he ends up going top 10.  Not interested in him, but he may contribute to a good player sliding down to us.

So nobody really has talked about Allvin's comments about moving up in the draft.

My assumption was that he was going to package a 3rd and a 4th rounder to move up into the 2nd round, but now I'm thinking if Allvin perhaps has other ideas like moving up from 11th overall to 8th or 9th overall?
