Better injury prevention and conditioning is good news for the team who (aside from last season) were riddled with injuries at critical times of the season

Part of that is making sure that players aren't overused...the fatigue that comes with that can really play into injuries.

wasn't there a weight training guy last season ..Takaguchi or similar ?

Roger Takahashi was our strength and conditioning coach for many years if I recall, but I think he was let go.

The Vancouver Canucks have signed Marko Torenius as the new goaltending development coach and goaltending coach of the Abbotsford Canucks, the club announced Tuesday morning.

The job was vacated when Curtis Sanford left to take a well-deserved NHL coaching job with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Torenius, a native of Helsinki, Finland, has spent the past six seasons as the goaltending coach for SKA St. Petersburg.

He is credited — along with Ra$&!# Davydov — as one of two goaltending coaches to develop New York Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin during Shesterkin’s five years with SKA.

Sounds like a good add.  Hoping he works well with Clark so there's some consistency.
