I will be shocked if he signs for 8.25 x 6. 1

Exactly^ Flames GM was on the edge of getting canned after losing Johnny and the jerk. He needed a splash and overspent to get it.
Warhippy
Him or tkachuck for that price? It's a no brainer really. If they can retain weegar they win this trade if Huberdeau even maintains a 75 point pace 2

At the same age, this contract really does set the bar for JT. This is likely when JR says they are so far apart. JT has every right to be seeking 8 years and 9 million after seeing this contract. Agreed 100%. Miller will be asking for a 9x8 for sure. Even Gaudreau got almost $10 million and he is a small soft winger. Miller is a 220lb power forward who can also play centre and is essentially now a 100 point player. On the open market he is getting $9 million easy...

Johnny's lack lust typical playoff production same with Matt AND his immaturity, id say they are even better. They will be tops in the Pacific again. Still 2 spots available, with the wild cards as well. Every point will count. and health.

If you take out Huberdeau from that trade (replaces Gaudreau), then Calgary got a top 4 RHDman for Tkachuk who can play 25 minutes a night and get 50 points, plus a 1st round pick plus a prospect. Isn't that exactly the trade packages floating around here for JT Miller?
Provost
Miller is going to be eying that to demand a $9.5+ million max term deal 1
flat land fish
Good for the flames to salvage their summer. As for Miller it will come down to if he wants maximum cash or if he wants opportunity to win. If he’s getting 10 a season the teams depth takes a hit. BPA
Huberdeau was a fair bit over a ppg for the last 4 seasons. Got a $10.5M x 8yrs Miller was just slightly over a ppg the last 3 seasons with the Canucks. Miller has got to be thinking $9-9.5M x 8yrs now. Sharpshooter
Also, I’m going to predict that this contract is going to be an albatross around the team’s neck in about 5-6 years. 1
Gurn
That is a lot of money for a 37year old hockey player, even if the cap goes up 10 mill by then. 1
