Drakrami
uhh.. trade makes no sense at all. For one Scheifele is worth more than Miller.

bigbadcanucks
Some people here think Dickinson with his negative equity can be thrown into a deal. If Patrick Allvin can move Dickinson without giving up too much sweeteners, he deserves a statue right next to Roger Neilson. 2
higgyfan
Somehow I just can't see Miller signing with the Jets. Winnipeg ends up with: Jason Dickinson Tanner Pearson Jet Woo Van gets: Mark Scheifele Mason Appleton Morgan Barron Simon Lundmark 2023 1st round pick Nuck fans all over this one! flickyoursedin
Easy yes for me which means it’s probably a no from the Jets!

I mean he already swindled a 3rd out of Ottawa for Hamonic without retaining anything so that move as well would lock him in to the ring of honour imo. No quarrel from me. A statue is so much more nicer (especially for the pigeons outside of Rogers Arena) than just a name emblazoned inside the building, don't you think?

Did you see the end of season presser from Scheifele? That plus his bumbling explanation/justification of his hit on Jack Evans, coupled with talk of him and Wheeler pushing Laine out of the 'peg leads me to think that he's a guy the Canucks could do without in the dressing room. No substance to what I'm about to say, but I wonder if Scheifele had anything to do with Paul Maurice saying "phuck it, I'm out of here -- I can't take this team any further with this clown in the room." (second part of the made up statement is all conjecture).

Myers, Pearson, Poolman, Ferland, Dickinson? And I’m wondering about Garland’s actual value right now with his contract. Could we move him and not take back a contract? The Jets would get him for 1 season and then off he goes to the US. That would end up being a very lopsided trade in Vancouver's favour.

He's one of the last guys I'd want on the Canucks as a core player. Maybe a trade deadline rental you use and throw away after a playoff run if the Canucks were contenders, but that's not where they're at.

Now I'm not saying I know any of this to be true, it's just what I've heard around town combined with what I've seen that makes it make some sense to me. Apparently the very hush hush, kept quiet, He Who Must Not Be Named secret out of the Jets locker room is the main reason that Maurice said he couldn't coach that team anymore and they needed a different voice in the room. There are two very strong, loud leadership voices in that locker room, Wheeler and Scheifele, and they don't agree on how things should be done. Apparently this has led to the entire team basically being divided into Team Wheeler or Team Scheifele with absolutely no option of being neutral, everyone has picked a side and the players tend to ignore anything the other leader says. At least this is what a few of the local media that travel with the team have said, not officially of course. Now I'm not saying this means I don't want Scheifele, I think he's a tremendous player but I do hope, if this is true, that management does their due diligence to make sure his leadership style won't clash with what's already going on in our locker room. Can we forget Scheifele and add Kyle Connor? Next to Barkov the most underrated player in the league.
