drofssalg
Per Elliotte Friedman Lawson Crouse has re-signed for 5 years in Arizone. AAV of 4.3. It would seem Arizona is having to pay a bit of a premium to keep players. I would say that Crouse is certainly not a 4.3 a year player at the moment. Bad team in a crappy rink can't be very easy to attract players at the moment.
Alflives
Good deal for the Coyotes. Crouse is a very good younger player who is worth more. 1

Fanuck
I mean they have to sign and play at least a few actual NHL level players so why not Crouse, right?
Mustard Tiger
AZ sure takes alot of a heat for a team who actively tries to add all the expensive / overpaid talent in the and still manages to finish ahead of the most overhyped / highest payroll team the Habs lmfao AZ > Mtl

AZ should just play on paper, or run it using EA gaming platform and save everyone the travel time. 1 1
HKSR
Crouse is a player I've wanted on the Canucks for a while. Good for him for landing a big long term deal. Too bad it's the Coyotes though lol.
drofssalg
I think Crouse has potential so I am curious to see as the talent improves around him how his game progresses. Arizona certainly needs to be able to find ways to retain their good young players. I don't think Crouse is worth 4.3 today but that contract could quickly become a bargain as the team improves. I really feel badly for the players in Arizona. I am still surprised the NHL has given the Arizona experiment so much time.

I’d say a better comparison to Crouse would be Josh Anderson in Montreal. And Crouse comes in on a far better number. Anderson is a toxic contract. Crouse and Mikeyev are not. And that Josh Anderson is a much better comparable. And that Crouse is a steal of a deal compared to the anchor contract of Anderson.

Fair enough, 20 goals will be the bar that's set for all three of them. Crouse used to be a fighter and more physical so be brings some of that.... Same goes for Anderson. Mikeyev should be good defensively and on the PK. 15 goals and below will be a disappointment, 25 goals and more will make any of them into a good contract for me. I think all three might end up in that 15-25 murky middle.

canucklehead44
Using $100K per point as a baseline, in terms of points over 82 games he is at 43, actual 34, and average 26 over 82. This contract is what I would consider fair but at the higher end of his value (IE what he would have signed for likely as a UFA). Mikheyev is a good comp. 4.75M - last year 50 points/82 games, 32 actual, 40 over 82 average. Crouse is younger, bigger, and on the upswing vs Mikheyev in the middle of his prime, a bit older, but better penalty killer. Ilya Mikheyev
why on earth would a young player like Crouse, who a lot of teams would be after, give away 3 UFA years to ARZ. Questionable
