Leaves Vegas very thin in net, does it not?

Things like this are why I don't pick how teams are going to finish, in the up coming season, till at least the end of training camp.

They only really have one NHL ready goalie signed, and that's Lehner.

On the other hand, they now have increased cap space due to more LTIR.

So, I started a new thread about a week ago under Canucks talk where I speculated that Vegas would under perform this season, partially due to lack of depth in goal.

Brossoit had off-season hip surgery.  He's supposed to be ready for training camp but McCrimmon did say that the timeline would be tight.  There doesn't seem to have been an update on his recovery.

Ok, let's see what there is on CapFriendly...hmmmmm, here's some interesting options!

Holtby....ohhhh wait, out for season with surgery.

Ohhhhhh, Tyler Wall....wait, WHO????

Roman Durny....????????

Tyler Parsons?????????????????????

ooooooo....I know, Andrew Hammond....wait, he only played 11 games last year, 3.89 goals against and .879 save percentage on a really good team...

Ahhhhh, here we are, Cory Schneider, someone get out the smelling salts, a hand truck and some duct tape, we'll just wheel him out there every night. Problem Solved! Yay Management!!!!

You mean the Brossoit who finished the season on Injured Reserve??? Numbers last year were. 2.90 GAA and .895 Save percentage on a pretty good team.

Thompson might give them reasonable option, but would you want to ride a whole season on a guy who just signed a 766k cap hit for 3 seasons?

[Oh well;]

The Vegas Golden Knights are suddenly without a goalie. The team announced today that Robin Lehner will miss the entire 2022-23 season after determining that he will require hip surgery. No timeline for his recovery has been given yet, other than the fact he is no longer an option for the rapidly-approaching campaign.

This news follows Lehner’s previous shoulder surgery in May, which ended his season early. At the time, there were reports that he was dealing with multiple issues, including a serious hip injury, though the decision to have another procedure was certainly not expected at this point in the offseason. The Golden Knights, who have made several cap moves this summer including shedding Max Pacioretty’s deal for no return, are now basically down to Logan Thompson as a realistic NHL option.
