CanucksJay
Edmonton fans are super high on this kid. I know we are having our own cap issues but when guys like Ferland go on LTIR, are we able to go after McLeod for 1.3 ish? He's a bit of a late bloomer in that he started to play well 1.5 years ago. He plays both ends of the rink well. Plays PP and PK and seems like a versatile player who plays C. Personally I think he could be an upgrade over Dickinson. Oils haventsigned him as they are tyring to clear cap space. Even if they match the offersheet, that means they need to unload someone with zero leverage
Coconuts
Not unless we move out a forward with a decent cap hit, as it stands won't we just barely be cap compliant come the beginning of the season thanks to Ferland going onto LTIR? We've already got quite a logjam at forward.
Ghostsof1915
Worse Edmonton will just wait for Podz to get a contract renewal and they will retaliate. 2 1
Bad_BOI_pete
i dont know if this is equal value, but this works for cap space for both teams for 22 man rosters. edmonton drops cap, we add cap but can just make it work. The canucks could always bury dickinson if they needed cap room. Trades 1. VAN Bouchard, Evan Ceci, Cody McLeod, Ryan [RFA Rights] sign for 1.1 million? Phil_314
If we're going to target someone, we should go for a RHD, not another forward. 1

Most Canucks do with little cap space is sign depth #7 D man maybe ? Wait until RD man that has to clear waivers in October.. 1

They have Yamamoto coming up that season too. I doubt they'd try anything when they need every penny to keep himand Draisaitl who is up the season after. Gotta imagine he'll command 10-11m by then. But, the risk isn't worth the prize in this case. We have enough forwards as is, lets not rustles feathers for someone we don't need or even should want.

And we already have a glut of those guys ... but could see us adding one more just to see and just in case. All those folks on Myers case over the years ... if he goes down we are hooped, just like we were when he went down in the bubble. Only Myers, Motte and Demko could do anything at all against Vegas or so it seemed anyways. Weren't an effect of their causation. The rest of the team wilted. Was the weirdest series ive ever seen that went that long ... and it went right down to seven minutes of the game lol. Demko. What a godlike performance. Wide open nets but he had them holding their sticks so tight they kept hitting posts trying to pick corners etc lol. Not even the 93 Habs or Hasek when he took the Sabres to the final ... was it that lopsided. Back to the point. Yes we could add another depth D or something for the AHL for later but that's about it. Not sure if they just don't want to have the flexibility and keep a little wiggle room for later. I'd be fine with either.
