[Signing] Kings re-sign Sean Durzi

Recommended Posts

LA is a team we should be watching carefully.

They could be a really good team and may want to bolster their lineup at the TDL.

If we have a piece(s), including picks, they could use there could be an opportunity to acquire a young RHD as they have a plethora of prospects at that position that will never all be able to make it onto the roster regularly without someone ahead of them being moved and/or injured.

AAV: $1.7M

Just at CapFriendly Duri  24,  6'0-  RD - Last season was his first NHL season ? Show me more will cash in next contract.

Still 2 years X 1.7 million -- 2021-22 - GP 64 - G 3 - 27 PTS

Great first year and was great in playoffs.. Very bright future.. Great deal for LA Kings

HOW does Rob Blake get these guys to sign for these deals?!

My take:

California lifestyle - which means a pretty great quality of life when you've got money.

Very little to no media scrutiny.

Players can live 'normal' lives in their community as they're not 'celebrities' even if they are stars in the NHL - unlike Canada where your entire life is scrutinized even if you're a 4th liner.

Most importantly - LA is on the rise as a team and is only going to be better in the next few years.

Oh, and did I mention California lifestyle:).

Plus if he keeps it up he’s gonna get paid with some big money coming off the books in 2 years.

if there was ever the perfect model of retooling on the fly the LA Kings would be it. Keeping their veteran core while surrounding them will all quality young talents.

Can't say they are cup contenders yet but they could be quite dangerous moving forward.

Their biggest strength is down the middle IMO.

Kopitar and Danault are two of the best two-way centers in the league.

Every year since I was 5yo including last June.  Family lives there.

Yes, it's different than it was 20 years ago, but what place isn't?

Still a great place to live/work if you have the means.

Every NHL city is a nice place to work/play if you have the means.

Even a place like Columbus is great as you can afford way more with your money. Im sure none of these guys are complaining too much.

There's definitely places in the NHL that I wouldn't voluntary live even if I had money.  Edmonton for example.
