It's not being healthy that made things a bit tight - Boeser/Mikheyev need to be temporarily replaced in the lineup but it looks like Boeser could already be back and Mikheyev is already back practicing.  They would have been cap compliant with Dickinson and Myers has a similar cap hit.  They would have had to waive Stillman though.  Dermott might be LTIR eligible which would help till players are back healthy so they can re-assign the extras.

That's what I said. The extra injuries (that aren't bad/long enough to warrant LTIR) are complicating our ability to create that opening roster, with room for the injury replacement call ups (Aman/Karlsson) as they ALL need to fit.

If we were healthy, we wouldn't need replacements, everything would be fine.

Was commenting on:  "...and then sorted out the cap (make a trade) when those guys got healthy."   A trade once everyone is healthy wouldn't have been necessary.

*Or appropriate waivers (Stillman etc). They'd have to make additional roster moves once healthy.

Reading between the lines here, if they expect Brock and Quinn to come back, looks like Hogz is either 3RW (where Karlsson is) or the13th forward. Rathbone is the 7th D.

I'm curious. Who's had a better camp. Hogz or Karlsson and who's better suited to play beside kuz and petey (until mikheyev returns)

Also bravo Aman and Karlsson for making it. They came in relatively unknown and beat out vets like Dickinson for the job

Cap friendly looks funny with Vegas being 20.4m over the cap ( 102.9 total )

And they are going to be battling for the 5th seed in the pacific this year with Seattle lol

They are shown with a roster of 30 players.  Opening rosters are due by 5pm ET.  CapFriendly will typically give the details on how they got cap compliant.

Not sure that Swedish premier league Rookie of the Year last year (and who broke Petey's rookie goal scoring record) qualifies as "relatively unknown"

I guess the hype has been building since the original Dahlen trade. At that point, he was an NHL hopeful and a lot of fans felt like we had lost that trade.

Not to take away from Karlsson's achievements but he broke Petey's record as an older player right?

Either way, Im happy he showed well and made the team. I certainly didn't expect him on the roster as the season was ending last year when we had guys like Lammiko Chiasson, Lockwood Dickinson.

I think most would be lying if they said they had Karlsson pencilled in on the roster in April.

To be more clear, my surpise came from the initial Dahlen trade take where analysts were giving him a slim chance of making the NHL. It was kind of like buying a lottery ticket once the Dahlen relationship soured and he wanted out.

Maybe that was for the best as he stayed out of the limelight and continued to develop and then finally came over and showed well.

‘Haggy’ over Karlsson.

All day, everyday.

And kudos to Aman as well. I’d take him as the replacement for a bottom 6 injury any day.
