Gotta feel bad for the dude. Imagine working your ass off growing up to chase your dream, being drafted first overall (edit: 2nd overall), and then running into a wall with a migraine disorder that runs in the family. Then throw in the injuries he worked through along the way to being drafted, any other NHL injuries, and a run-in with Covid.

Man they gave up Glass for this guy too.

He’s looking poised to break into the NHL this season.

Feels weird that we ended up with the best forward of the draft.

He didn't get drafted first overall. Injuries kind of screwed him over there too.

Nolan Patrick Stefan

No ill will to the kid but I was happy we never drafted him because he had every possible red flag I could think of

Stefan wasn't good. Patrick may have been good, but he's just injured all the time. We also didn't have the opportunity to draft him, as he went 2nd overall. That said, I do think there were rumours that Benning and Bracket were more high on Petey than on Patrick.

Either way, I suspect he'll have less than 350 games when his career is over.

I'll take that 350 bet for sure.  Far less.

He always translated in to a poor mans RNH for me and while it sucks he can't stay healthy it's just how the cards play out

Yeah it’s obviously good, but it’s such an extremely rare thing for this team that it feels like something is wrong. The only other times this has happened were ‘89 and ‘99.

No kidding. The guy couldn’t stay healthy at all in Junior. I don’t know how scouts thought that was going to get any better playing against adults.

Migraines again? What an awful string of luck for a guy that was once touted as a borderline "generational" (though that word means nothing anymore) prospect.

The word only means nothing when people apply to a player like Nolan Patrick, who was never at any point considered anything resembling generational.
