This is a small change to our uniforms.  However, I feel that this change was in poor taste.  I for one was really in favour of the stripes on the pants.  I feel that our uniform colours now a days are to“blue” sort of like Toronto’s.  The green and white striping on our pants was a classic look and represented where this organization started from.  Let me know how you all feel about this change.  I’m glad I still have my own pair.

Yup it’s a completely unnecessary downgrade. It’s been mentioned in the other uniform threads we have going on.

I didn't even realize this up until now, but they were already missing from the alternate uniforms

I wish they'd use the stripe pattern from those alternates (with a different collar) with the orca as the primary jersey.

Does it matter ever since we went to the Orca, we've had one of the worst uniforms in hockey.

I actually prefer the orca to the skate. I realise there are "corporate connotations" about how the orca came into being, but I just never liked the skate all that much and the Halloween colours all that much. I even remember as a kid growing up in the 90's thinking it was weird. lol Meanwhile, I saw teams like the Avalanche come into the league with amazing jerseys. I was always kind of jealous of that. Not even saying the orca's as good as those jerseys either but it was a step in the right direction imo.

I don't mind the skate being worn the odd time or even as a 3rd jersey, but I hope we don't go back to it full time.

You obviously think differently though, which I think is a symptom to a fundamental problem we've had: we've never had an actual good jersey that compares with some of the best around the league. Instead, we have had an identity crisis.

Agree.  This seems like change for the sake of change and unnecessary.

I really like the skate jersey, but it's mostly the color scheme more then the skate although the skate is at least hockey related.  The current color scheme isn't great and the Orca is terrible, not only is it silly looking it makes no sense Orca's are found everywhere there is an Ocean, has nothing to do with Vancouver 90% of the planet is water.

I guess my question then would be what does the halloween colours represent with Vancouver that makes it better than the blue and green?

Orange would be the halloween color I've never seen the canucks wear Orange.

Red and yellow comined typically make orange. Also a lot of the yellow seen on some jerseys tend to be arguably more orange in my opinion. Therefore, it's easy to associate orange and Halloween colours even if it's not directly on the jersey  This is especially evident in the skate logo part of it.

Yellow and Blue make Green, that doesn't mean that someone wearing yellow and blue is really wearing green.

But there's no yellow on the Orca jersey and blue and greed don't make yellow. There is yellow and red on the skate jersey which allows it to easily blend and seem orange.
