Salary cap doesn’t apply to them I guess.

Teams that aren't cap compliant on opening day are not allowed to participate in the season.

Every roster movement, signing etc has to be logged with Central Registry where they verify that the moves are cap compliant.

Now I realize Poolman was signed as a UFA and that inflates prices, but that's darn near the same AAV as Poolman's

Then I realized no one else was really bidding for Poolman and he doesn't put up offense...

meh vegas just have to cut the roster down to minimum and then stick all the LTIR after opening day and they'll be right at the cap limit.. dunno why everyone is complaining about vegas this vegas that.. at the end of the day.. they only have a 82.5mil roster on the ice ya? and weber and lehner ain't coming back for the playoff either so they ain't gonna have a 95mil roster ya?

I don't get it either, it's fair use of the rules. If the Canucks go and win a cup in a few years with Podkolzin or whoever spending part of the season, up to the playoffs, on LTIR, and us acquiring a temporary "LTIReplacement" at the TDL... I'm not going to complain.

They did that when they added Toffoli.   They used LTIR to add him - they would have been well above the cap if the season had resumed rather than go directly to the playoffs.

And was anyone complaining about us using LTIR...?

the only time i'll have issue with LTIR abuse is the bogus LTIR where a player magically is ready by game 1 of the playoff. since they'll never apply cap to the playoff.. i dunno have somethign like if a player on LTIR doesn't come back to the lineup before the regular season ends he needs to miss minimum 1 round of playoff before eligible for return
