Also been watching Demko tonight, again, not looking sharp. Playing deep, looks hesitant and has been out of position a couple times. Also poor rebound control. Just does not look confident at all. Hopefully he dials it in but if he follows what he's done every other game he hasn't turned it around mid game yet.

Also one thing I'm really surprised with him is how slow his reads are. He's usually really smart with his reads but this season he is really slow to predict the play. It's almost as if he's hyper focused on the puck and is overthinking everything. Could be recognizing himself being out of position and is double thinking it which is causing him to not be checking his surroundings enough.

Impressive Observation! I believe it'll be your turn in the gondola with Shorty when Cheech retires.

Shorty & Mikey rhymes well :P

Also from last game, I'm really really happy the crowd boo'd sweet Caroline. That song is so overplayed and needs to be shut down asap. I hate hearing that piece of trash and same with Bon Jovi's Living on a Prayer. Both of those songs need to die at sports games.

I agree,

Betting ruins the pure enjoyment of the sport.

Right!? It’s a “sport”

Betting with cards and machines cool whatever

Betting money on people, I don’t know. I hate that it’s in our sport of hockey

If we had a defense full of tanevs, we would prob win the cup.

Brisebois not bad so far, Rathbone finding out all the things he shouldn’t do in the NHL. Every young offensive minded, puck moving D has to learn that - it will take some patience because I see a lot of good stuff there too.

I'm glad you pointed that out because I too feel there's something wrong with Demko.    Can't put my finger on it but he looks slower and has been quick to react on a couple of plays that period.   Not sure what's happening but we all know he's not been his Steller self like last year and likely a small part of the reason we've lost at least a couple of those last games.  Hope he's OK or we're doomed!

Brisebois looks like a steady vet out there.  I guess he’s been around enough to classify.

That was a nice foray he made behind the Canes net, too.  But he has been reliable in his own end.  Always did wonder why he didn't get a longer look in prior years

I like watching hockey to NOT think about money for a few hours. Everything has turned into a giant grift these days.

I just get tired of having to copy what other teams are doing. It gets too generic.

Canucks should come up with their own original things and lose Sweet Caroline, lose Bon Jovi and lose the woo after goals.

Honestly I'd love to do commentary and even though I have a voice for radio it's more of that soothing radio. I'd put people to sleep. I suppose I could do colour but I'm settled in life with the family so the wife wouldn't appreciate me being gone. Already left for milk and cigarettes once and that excuse did not fly!

I agree.  And kudos to TheHockeyGuy for eschewing sponsorship from betting companies for his YouTube channels

Rathbone isnt going to learn it ever.  He doesn't want to.  He wants to be an offensive player.   Hes been a pro for 5 years and still doesnt understand the basics of being sound defensively
