Brock in the Buff [Proposal]

Mid-July, proposed Garland for this return(or Quinn, Cozens - any 1 of them).

To open all that cap, would accept BB or CG in such a deal, gladly.

I would want more for CG honestly. Garland is a play driving catalyst. Brock is a stealth bomber. Don't notice him until you look at the score sheet.

Indeed, the 2 are useful as a W-study in contrasts. Kinda fear that CG might hit a Brendan Gallagher(ish) wall..little buzzsaw tires of taking on rival D in the trenches. Will prob happen within the term he's been signed for.

I like Conor Garland, but he's one of those players who looks like he's doing a bunch of stuff on the ice, but in the end, doesn't give you what you think he's given you.  I love the fight in this dog, but he's too small and gets sealed off to easily.

My wife and I have two dogs, of which one is toy poodle.  He reminds me of Garland from time to time...tons of fight and heart and is always moving around.  But in the end, he doesn't get a lot done.  I wish everyone had Garland's heart.

I feel like if you put him on a line with some big boys like a Tuch or Tage Thompson, and or someone really fast he’d have more room and be more effective

dont be sugar gay dude — Can you do a Brock Boeser road trip from Edmonton...

Now that that we have what you all came here for out of the way.

I have a proposal.

To Buffalo...... Brock Boeser 6.65m

To Van Peyton Krebs 863,333K ELC -2024

Buffalo has the cap space and Okposo comes off next year. Brock would fit their group and a fresh start could be exactly what he needs.

Van get's a bunch of Cap Space to shop for a defenseman and Krebs who many of us on CDC were high on in his draft year @R3aL. He's struggled to date but is starting to find his footing. We have a couple years to cook him and bring him into the fold. He could be the 3C we need down the line. He's shown good leadership qualities on some awful teams so at the very least he would be good in the room and play a depth role for us with upside.

Essentially Brock for Krebs and a 6m mystery box but hey it could even be a boat Lois.

Keep calm and flame on!

Interesting proposal. Good memory I’m still high on him I think he’s going to figure it out.

only issue with his fit on our team is we need a RHC

And managements plans with Miller / Horvat really factor in. If we are keeping both we desperately need a RHC 3C that is great defensively / PK

What about Boeser to the Islanders for Pageau?  We save a bit on the cap and get a right shot 3C.

Like per se Bo and Miller?

I like Kuzmenko w Pete a lot right now.

It’s only going to get better with kuz too and mikehyev as well.

Petey is playing unreal. Keep feeling like as he gets physically stronger his ability to protect the puck and drive to the net or cycle on the boards and protect the puck there and stay on his skates he’s going to be an absolute monster. his improvement in that regard is noticeable this year but he still has room for more strength.

Ya for garland boudreau just doesn’t like him it feels like. I wish he’d give him as much rope as he gives pearson and try him on the PK

since PK is mostly hardwork and positioning

Garland straight across for Pageau?  Cap is pretty close.

I’m think JPG could be a target it’s just his salary is a little steep. And csikaz there makes him kind of expendable.

but hard not to see how JPG as a 3C wouldn’t help us hugely and number 1 PK would be JPG-Mikehyev and really help Bo on face offs since he’s historically been pretty good on the draw

Problem is we wouldn't really have the flexibility to make a move for a D after. I think the cap space would be more valuable right now.

True, but maybe the trade gets bigger and it’s Garland + Miller for Pageau + Pulock?  Right shot 3C (overpaid, yes) and a right shot D to partner with Hughes.  Islanders add 150 points to their scoring.

I'm not opposed to it but I do question whether Buffalo needs help on the right wing, I was looking at capgeek's depth chart for Buffalo and it looks like they've got both Oloffson and Tuch on the right wing. Okposo too, and all three have been productive thus far. Tuch is locked in, they just named Okposo captain so maybe they extend him, and they've got Olofsson signed for another season.

They've def got the cap space, I just question the need. Maybe one of their wingers could slot over? Their left side doesn't look as strong outside of Skinner.

It'd be nice to try and grab one of their three 2nd round picks.

Kreb 21 - C/W --  2nd rounder 2023  ( Kreb  875,000 )-- --Conditional 2nd rounder in 2024 if Boeser score 30 goals

Boeser 6.7 million X 3 yr

Free up almost 6 million...
