canuck73_3
NHL actually got this one right, I thought they might have gone with a fine or one game cause Pietrangelo got right back up.

Pietrangelo is made of granite. His face is smashed in... and he gets up and starts swinging.
-DLC-
Yet somehow this one was ok. Inconsistent ass league. Not only that, Myers is the bad guy in their eyes. They'll never get it right.

qwijibo
Deserved. It was a dangerous hit that could have had a much worse outcome
DrJockitch
Like Deb said, the hit on Bear was as bad but his name isn’t Pieterangelo and his team isn’t Vegas.
GB5
Cheap shot indeed and suspension worthy for poor decision making but it was done during the play in the heat of battle. To me it is not equal to the 2 games Chucky got for a blatant attempt to permanently injure. Tkachuk should have been given 5.

Bear’s shoulders are parallel with the boards and not perpendicular like Pietrangelo’s. The difference is the outcome is far more dangerous by sending Pietrangelo head first into the boards which is highly dangerous, Bear went flying forward to the ice, not the boards where he could break his neck. Mind you, severe whiplash can occur and a player can get injured on both plays. The potential level of injury is far higher in Pietrangelo’s case. Either way its a hit from behind, its just the possible outcomes are not quite the same.
