Popular Post OldFaithfulCap
Game info : TV: Sportsnet. Radio: AM 650. Overview: For the eternal optimist: The Canucks start this 5-game road trip desperate to change their luck and their place on the NHL standings. The Canucks hit the road looking for their next road win against the slumping sens who have lost their last 5 games. Ottawa has scoring but like the Canucks rank low in both goals against and Penalty Kill. The Senators starting goalie has struggled and Cam Talbot is expected to get his second start tonight. The Canucks started well in their road games this season and they will need their energy against a young team with plenty of players on the rise like Tkachuk and Batherson. The Canucks have changed their lines again with Bruce seeking more balance. Boeser is expected to return from his injury and join the top line with Miller moving back to Center. Bo Horvat will return to center a line with Garland and Podkolzin. Martin has unexpectedly got the start tonight. For the Tank enthusiast: In a season marked by chaos, the Canucks meekly escape Vancouver to go back to the road where they have yet to win outside of Seattle. Another series of line shuffling has Miller back to Center where he was so listless in earlier games. Boeser returns and hopefully at full strength as he was completely forgettable in past games. For a team where scoring goals is not the issue Rathbone has been added to the starting lineup. Rutherford has given the canucks plenty of motivation to perform well so that they can be traded to a better team. He also expressed no confidence in his coach so Bruce may be savoring his 600th win and looking eagerly at retirement. For the Bedard fans we are still in a prime position, near the bottom, but not at the very bottom to appease the hockey gods so tank is going well. In many ways the sens are like the Canucks mirrors - a history of great scorers, a few president cup wins, shaky goaltenders and nothing to show for it. We'll see if the Canucks staying the course will overcome a team on a slow rebuild. Go Canucks or at least don't blow a lead... Stats: (nhl.com) Player stats: Bo Horvat is still equal 2nd in the league in goals with 10 Kuzmenko has at least one goal in 4 of his last 5 games JT Miller has had a goal in 2 straight games Canucks are tied for last in the league with Anaheim and Toronto in goals scored by the blueline at 1. 0 goals have been scored this season from the Canucks starting blueline tonight (Kyle Burroughs has their only goal). Giroux has a goal in his 3 last games, Tkachuk has no goals in his 3. The current top or equal top goal scorer for every Canuck's opponent has scored a goal against the Canucks this season. Match-Up Info: Tonight marks the first of two meetings between the Canucks and Senators this season: Nov. 8 (away) and Mar. 11 (home). The Canucks are 32-19-2-3 all-time against the Senators, including a 14-11-1-1 record on the road. Vancouver is 6-3-1 in their last 10 games vs Ottawa (2-2-1 in their last 5). Among active Canucks skaters, J.T. Miller leads the team in career points vs Ottawa with 20 points (10-10-20) in 33 games. Quinn Hughes (1-14-15 in 13 GP) and Elias Pettersson (6-6-12 in 9 GP) have registered more than a point per game in their careers vs Ottawa. Tyler Myers leads active Canucks skaters in games played against Ottawa with 43 (5-11-16 in those 43 games). Thatcher Demko is 6-3-1 in his career against Ottawa with a 2.45 GAA and .924 save-percentage. Spencer Martin has yet to face the Senators in his career. Popular Post HorvatToBaertschi
Going to this one!! Hoping for a full 60 minutes and some exciting end to end action! My overall record when going to Canucks games is 8-2-0 so I'm hoping to make it 10-2 by thursday!! Look out for a handsome young man in black skate apparel front row of the 200's (and no, I won't throw my jersey on the ice if we lose). Here is just the d-men and shots. Edited November 8, 2022 by OldFaithfulCap

I mean, we're scoring enough and we have a top 5 Powerplay in the league. Who cares? Our dmen should be worried about defending, not about this low-impact stat. This caused much more concern in previous seasons when our offense wasn't clicking. 1

It's early in the season and we are scoring enough as you said so it's not a big deal. Shots that get redirected are as valuable. We've been so bad at our end that the blueliners never get a chance to join the rush. On the other side we keep giving up leads and so much of our 2nd and 3rd period offence seems to be shots from the blueline. We really do seem to lack a blueliner with a decent shot. I think it's something to keep an eye on as the season progresses.

This correlates with our need for OEL and Myers to step it back up and become dmen that contribute relative to their cap hits. 1

bishopshodan
Lets go Nucks! And remember CDC, if Bo does something good/bad it doesn't mean you have to make a comment about JT. If JT does something good/bad if doesn't mean you have to make a comment about Bo. Support the centre! Stop the divide! 1 2
