Odd.
To Colorado: J.T Miller, Jack Rathbone, To Vancouver: Bowen Byram, Logan O Connor Colorado does this because Miller would solidify their forward group. Just like any team, you’re going to have to sacrifice a player to get something you need in return. Byram will get top minutes here. They already have Byram playing on the 3rd pair as Toews and Girard play top 4. Rathbone will come in and be their LD #6. We get Logan O Connor in return for our roster. Second trade: New Jersey and Canucks To New Jersey: Boeser, Klimovich, Dermott (when healthy), 2024 2nd round pick, 2023 6th round pick To Vancouver: Severson, Yegor Sarangovich Severson is struggling a bit but he’s an upcoming UFA and we could definitely use Severson for our right side as he’s a solid penalty killer and plays a two-way game. They get Boeser who will be playing in the top 6 and will better fit their team playing alongside playmakers. Dermott replaces that RD role after Severson is traded. To sweeten the deal for them, we are giving away these later round picks and give them a B+ level prospect in Klimovich. We get Sarangovich who’s a bigger and faster younger Miller that plays both the wing and centre position. 3rd trade: Tampa and Vancouver To Tampa: Conor Garland ($5.0M for 3 more years) To Vancouver Eric Cernak ($2.9M this year, $5.2M for 8 years after), 2023 3rd round pick With the emergence of the young RHD former collegiate player Perbix, Cernak has been utilized a bit less. They have a lot of RHD such as Cal Foote and Phillipe Myers who can easily replace Cernak for cheaper as they are all similar players. Garland would add some more offensive firepower in their top 9 and will thrive with Cooper letting him loose. We get a big mean RHDD in Cernak. They give us a 3rd rounder because this deal would be way too good for them otherwise. New line up: Kuzmenko/Petey/Mikheyev Sarangovich/Horvat/Podkolzin Pearson/Studnicka/Hoglander Joshua/Aman/Lazar Byram/Cernak Hughes/Severson OEL/Bear Myers Ideally we find a way to dump Myers for picks, perhaps a trade to Detroit in exchange for a higher round pick if possible.
Ghostsof1915
Can Tampa take the $2.1 million extra this year with it's LTIR?

timberz21
Everyone says no. COL : Mackinnon's salary is doubling next year, they can't afford Miller and honestly don't need him. They got Landeskog who's going to return eventually. NJ : Not sure what they are gaining. Serangovich as similar production to Boeser and much cheaper. Severson might be struggling but will need him if they want to build on that strong start and be in the playoff. TB: Pretty sure they could get better assets than Garland for Cernak, if they wanted. Big if also, since they locked him up long-term at a decent cap to be part of their future, not to trade him to save cap.
Elias Pettersson
Colorado has no cap space next year once MacKinnon's new deal kicks in...
Canucks Curse
I am doubtful Tampa and Colorado do this trade, NJ might do that but they are cooking right now so unlikely to change line-up significantly, but they have Nemec who can step in as R D, I bet NJ lets severson walk in offseason, they will make playoffs so will keep him... Cernak is probably a sacred cow in Tampa, Colorado will have cap issues with miller but they miss cadre for sure.
Boknows08
Can’t see Col trading Byrum. Toews deal is up after next year, will Col be able to resign him with Macs raise coming? Think Byrum replaces Toews. Girard can play both sides. We don’t have a 24 2nd in the NJ deal.

Just doesn't make enough sense for any of them to upset their team chemistry either.
