I could see some trades happening after tonight’s blow out loss.

Basically out the playoffs before mid November ..again.

I don’t see that happening at all. Every “buyer” team is pretty much Cap’d out. It’s easier to make trades near the end of the season when the hit is less (It would also make sense to retain some salary in order to get more of a return as well). Sorry but this will be going on for a while yet….

I was just looking at the standings today and I realized there is a big reason ownership/management isn't going to do anything. We are still too close in terms of points. Edmonton has 18 points with one more game played and we sit at 11. They have this terrible idea man we are so close if we get on a hot streak we are right back in it. Ignoring all the signs they are a terrible hockey club. It's what's put this franchise behind the eight ball time and time again. They basically have to be so far behind in points to call the season but man the way they play is awful. The players we have are hard to get behind because they just don't play like they care. I was disappointed to see us so close in points still because I realized it's giving them a false sense of hope. Biggest problem I have is that Rutherford said the standards had to be higher starting at the top and it's been anything but. The players get away with so many losing habits and poor me attitude and still haven't been made accountable.

Our one strength which is down the middle isn’t even that much of a strength apparently.

Would like to see them acquire a younger shut down center this season. Someone they can develop into a 30 point face off/pk specialist.

If I was Bruce, I would put in our three healthy scratches from last night in the lineup to get some fresh legs.

Kuzmenko-Pettersson-Mikheyev

Garland-Horvat-Miller
Podkolzin-Dries-Boeser
Joshua-Åman-Hoglander

OEL-Bear
Hughes-Schenn
Rathbone-Burroughs

Move Miller to the wing.

Reunite Kuzmenko-Pettersson-Mikheyev.

Stillman and Myers could take a night, err.. day off.

Do you mind if we make you coach too?

If we could move Miller or Bo (preferably Miller) for a young right shot shut down centre that would be ideal.  But maybe a guy like KK from Carolina (although left shot) could be a target?  Petey, Bo, KK.

Among all the negativity, this is true. The season is not a write off yet. There is still time to turn it around. Also, as I mentioned before, if we do a fire sale, we will get more near the end is the season as opposed to now when all the buyers are basically Cap’d out,

Still a chance to go 3-2 on this road trip which would be better than expected all things considered.

That being said I don’t think many fans are confident about a W today. It would take Demko coming back in and regaining his form out of nowhere basically.

So your say'in the possession game is out of the question? How about a neutral zone trap? How about a rumble on the opening face off? Marchand likes to kiss guys so maybe Schenn back hands him during warmups? Miller should wear a Bruin jersey during warmup. That would throw everyone off. Gotta think outside the box. :)

I walked away from Vancouver after the 2011 loss to Boston. Seeing those guys, boychuk injuring raymond and getting nothing, marchand getting nothing and then Tim Thomas not going to the White House as he's a crazy racist made me so mad. It felt like there was no justice, that Vancouver would never win and I felt that the Canucks gave up in the last few games. After some self reflection I realized I was way too attached, and that I needed a break and I did take one until this season. It would be beautifully poetic if they could win today and this win could be the start of a turnaround. But there is little justice in life or sports...

I didn't step away but I feel you. I used to be waaaaaay too invested in the rosters, in the team, in the results, in the play. A loss could sour my mood for the rest of a day or evening if I let it, a bad or ugly loss would often do that.

Got to the point where I realized it was pretty dumb to let a sport have that much influence over how I experience life so I gradually took steps back. I still follow the Canucks and NHL closely but it's nothing like it was. I'm still invested, I still post, I still watch, but it's more detached. They aren't my family, I don't have strong parasocial relationships with members of this roster, I don't really know them as people and they most certainly don't know me.

I want them to win while being consistently competitive, not the mediocre teams we've had over much of the past decade. But most of my views and opinions on players are tied to that, and how I view team building, not so much to who players are as people. Haven't really gotten invested in them as people since those 2000's/early 2010's era rosters.
