Crabcakes
Undrafted 25 year old, has worked his way up in the Arizona and San Jose organizations. Decent AHL player, 44 NHL games. 1-4-5 -18 1
Dazzle
Have to say that the new management did a solid job with regards to the pro scouting department. All of the pickups so far have been excellent, except maybe Stillman, who's a very raw player. I have ripped the Miller re-signing because it has put us back on the salary cap front, but even he has been producing. I don't know if the assistant GMs had anything to do with this, but if so, they deserve credit. Edited November 21, 2022 by Dazzle

I don’t know of any public sources for AHL faceoff stats. So probably that info is not available unless there’s a fan somewhere tracking them, or somebody decided to spend the cash on generating a report through one of the private services. I’m sure the Canucks have those stats (and a lot more) internally but I wouldn’t expect them to share them any time soon. Given that Pederson is around a career 46% faceoff win percentage at the NHL level, in 44 games played from age 23-24, it’s a fair bet that he’s over 50% this season with Abbotsford.
Fred65
I don't understan why Studnicka is rated higher than some Abby playerr including Pederson. Studnicka hasn't show a lot IMHO Edited November 22, 2022 by Fred65

Studnicka hasn't show a lot IMHO GM traded for him so he gets more of a look than others, just like Stillman over Burroughs... Could see him getting a look later in the year if he keeps up his play though.

Pederson has only player 8 games lets see how he is after 25-30 games As for people posting about Studnicka 23, 6'1 - RW/ C 185 lbs Boston drafted 2nd round but was never given a shot with depth with Boston. Canucks hockey people feel there is a good upside and need to give this young guy a good look.. Studnicka look okay playing 4th line.. 1. Karlsson - Dries - Lockwood - Dowling - Baines -- Pederson I would say Pederson is behind 5- 6 Abby Canucks

Studnicka hasn't show a lot IMHO Waivers status definitely comes into play. Studnicka has never been placed on waivers. He became eligible this year, and the sense was that he’d likely get claimed, if waived. Pederson, on the other hand, has cleared all three times he’s been waived in his career (including this past October). Studs is also a 23 year old former 2nd round pick, while Pederson is two years older and undrafted. 2 1
Fred65
I can't address the skils of Pederson, I've never seen him play, but I can with Studnicka. The former is showing well in Abby and Studs is not a NHL player. I keep watching him, his speed is average and his hockey sense in below minimum requirements, he doesn't hit with authority, mostly because he's late getting there. Frankly this is a case IMHO of covering up management mess up. Boston is happy to have shed thiss guy. We got rid of DiPietro but Myrenburg there was always hope

Yeah, Aman, Lazar, Joshua, Bear, Mikheyev, and Kuzmenko are all looking good - Stillman looks awful, but he is back in the lineup. Too soon to tell on Studnicka.
