Just win games for that man Nice to see a win for Bruce and for the players generally, especially some guys who have been taking criticism. Here are some interesting points. 1. Against Vegas the Horvat line and OEL and Bear were matched against the top line and they got crushed in expected goals and Corsi. Tonight the Petey line along with Hughes and Schenn were matched against the McKinnon line and they actually won the expected goals and Corsi battle. A lot of pundits have been saying that Petey should play against the top line and OEL should not and I think they are right. Petey is a better 200 ft. player than either Horvat or Miller and Mikayev is also a very good 200 ft player. 2. With somewhat easier minutes OEL and Bear had a good game and it is nice to see them on the scoreboard with 2 pts each. . 3. Martin was not great, but he was good. And he is pretty much always good. Nice to see a save percentage over 90%. Not sure exactly how to handle the goalie situation. The 50-50 approach might be best for now, at least until Demko gets hot again. 4. According to expected goals, the game was pretty even at even strength, even though Colorado had more shots on goal. Still, I feel that the Canucks were fortunate to come away with a win. 5. Always great to beat the defending Stanley Cup champs. Edited November 25, 2022 by JamesB 1 4

Our forwards and defense have not been the issue. Quinn and Schenn have the 4th best metrics in the league and 4 guys on pace for 40 goals. We get bubble Demko or Spence of last year and were gonna win a lot more than we lose. Yup I agree. We struggled in almost every area to start the season. I can see we are getting better in areas. I think that even with an average Demko we’d have a couple more wins. It’ll come. Just hoping it’s not too late. Luckily only Vegas has really taken off in our division. Seattle somewhat but I can’t see them sustaining.

Do not play Stillman again. 1
Junkyard Dog
I'd probably play Martin vs Vegas, Florida and maybe Washington(could give Demko that one I think, they struggling and could be good opportunity for Demmer) to see how well he can play vs greater talent over an extended period. If anything else that sort of look is warranted. Edited November 24, 2022 by Junkyard Dog

SilentSam
Martin deserves Vegas. 5-1-1 says a lot for a guy wanting to groove. Id be happy to see a goalie controversy.

Hopefully he gets the chance to start a few in a row and give us a chance to string together some wins where we get the lead and the goalie can close it out. He has done it consistently at 5 - 1 - 1 and he deserves the net now. Mentally this benefits the team greatly. The timing of the goals Martin lets in is far less deflating then the ones Demko let's them in. I've played the game, and it's really difficult to come back from such a deep hole in goals against, especially with teams who have good Ds and average goalies. All we ask for is an average goalie that can keep us in the game, rather than deflating our hopes.
Firstname Lastname
The problem with this team is consistency. They have shown that they are able to put in full 60mins of effort in some games (Against tougher opponents like Penguins, Avs, etc.)

sockeye
Great game Canucks! Great to see Spencer Martin get another win. He deserves the next start. The defensive structure was actually good tonight unlike most other nights. Lazar (a Salmon Arm boy) is the type of player we needed for the board battles. We missed him when he was injured. Mikheyev is good defensively too. Ethan Bear is looking solid and had a nice goal. A good pick up from Carolina. Another good game by Petterson, Hughes and Schenn. Myers needs to avoid taking those unnecessary penalties. Anyway, I really liked to see the improved defensive play. Now, can they repeat that in Vegas.
