Popular Post OldFaithfulCap
Game info TV: Sportsnet, TSN2 Radio: Sportsnet 650 Overview A much needed win brought some relief for Canucks fans and the team. Plenty of the talk was about Brock Boeser who went from a being a healthy scratch to a late inclusion and ended up using his shot to get a big goal to tie it up. Vancouver is driving nearer to the cliff edge for the postseason, dearly needing to put together some wins. Their powerplay has been awful the last two games with a 5 on 3 being a great example of how to waste time and not shoot. The Canucks offense has also quietened and they find themselves outside the top 10 in goals scored per game while mired to the bottom of the league in goals against and Penalty Kill Percentage. Montreal has given up at least 4 penalties their last 4 games, including 4 tripping penalties so this may be one area that the Canucks can target with Xhekaj giving up the 5th most minor penalties in the league. Montreal comes into this game on a so-so run. 5-5 over their past 10 games and largely alternating wins and losses. Their bright spot is Cole Caulfield who just scored his 40th career goal in his 100th game. Their downside is injuries, with Gallagher, Hoffman and Drouin all doubtful. All 3 had a point in their last win over Vancouver with Gallagher being a constant pest. Jake Allen has started the last 3 games for Montreal so we may see Montembeault in net. If you want a silver lining with some hope then last game was only the 3rd time this season that the Canucks managed to come back and win after falling behind twice in a game. It was the first time they managed to do so on home ice. These are little moments that a team can build upon, much like being a healthy scratch and turning it around so perhaps this can be the sort of self-belief they can use to be more consistent. Time is running out to turn around this season but there is still a faint chance. In late news Quinn Hughes sat out the morning skate but it expected to play. Boeser is joining the Petterson-Mik line and Kuzmenko is with Dries and Garland. Gallagher and Savard are confirmed out for the Habs. MATCH-UP INFO Tonight marks the second and final meeting between the Canucks and Canadiens this season: Nov. 9 (5-2 L) and Dec. 5 (home). LAST MEETING - NOV. 9/22: VAN 2 at MTL 5 Kirby Dach scored two goals and Samuel Montembeault made 30 saves, leading the Montreal Canadiens to a 5-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks on a Wednesday night. Nick Suzuki, Arber Xhekaj and Dach gave Montreal (7-6-1) a three-goal lead in the first period. Mike Hoffman also scored for the third time in two games. Luke Schenn and Nils Hoglander scored for Vancouver (4-7-3) in a failed comeback try in the third period. The Canadiens scored on the power play just 55 seconds in. Suzuki scored on a shot from the point, making Vancouver pay for Tanner Pearson's hooking penalty. Montreal doubled its lead with another shot from the point as Xhekaj scored his second of the season on a wrister that deflected off Pearson and into the net. Dach added a third Canadiens goal when he stole the puck from J.T. Miller in Vancouver's zone and beat Demko. Hoffman gave the Canadiens a four-goal lead in the second period. He outpaced Jack Rathbone and beat Demko with a wrister. Hoffman also had a pair of goals in Montreal's 3-2 shootout win over the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday. Vancouver scored at 4:46 of the third. Schenn's slap shot from the point whizzed through traffic and beat Montembeault. Hoglander cut the Canucks' deficit to two goals by coverting a rebound for his first goal of the season. Dach put the game away when Suzuki found him all alone with a cross-ice pass. The 22-year-old scored his second of the game with a wrist shot. Popular Post Canucks-12
All we ask for is consistency. Either consistently win or consistently lose. Either one this year would be best for the organization. No point of winning one then losing one. Management really needs to make a decision on the direction of this team soon. 5

Bo fan
Just play a whole 60 minutes What a gong show this organization has become - from the owner getting sued by his kids, to management and the slight against Luongo , the benching Brock on Hockey ights Cancer night. It isn't just the team - it is the whole organization from the top down. I know this isn't game related so I will shut up now Go team go
