I hope for the sake of Luke and his wife's pregnancy, that this deal gets done quickly so they can adjust and settle in for the newborn.

I can imagine how stressful this is for him and his wife.

This, 100% this. He may fetch a slightly better pick closer to the deadline but I'm perfectly fine with a lesser return if it eases the next few months for them. Schenn left his newborn in the bubble year at I believe 2 months old. I couldn't imagine missing the first few months of your newborns life (a Stanley Cup probably made it a bit easier)

I wish absolutely nothing but all the best for Schenn and his family and I hope we do circle back in the summer if it makes sense.

I’m assuming his wife would just stay where she is with her current Dr.
Wouldn’t require settling in

Hes a UFA, most family’s don’t pack up and move when dealt at the deadline

Him flying home almost sounds more like she is expecting a little early since it is really just a week away. Unless we get a fair return, I am all for keeping him and also allowing him to spend some time with her prior to and after the delivery.

Being sat out

Trade imminent?

Is there going to be him and a few others once it starts.

Schenn is the highest scoring RHD, two time cup winner, all time league leader in hits, a PLUS player on the really bad team, great in the room,

I would hope the return is at least a 2nd depending upon the team.

I would think Edmonton has the biggest need, could a Schenn for Pujujarvi involved trade, multiple pieces?

May not have to wait too long now but then there is Chychrun and Gavrikov.

I had been thinking of him being one of the sweeteners to move Miller.

Update - Flying back to Vancouver, sure hope it isn't any issues for his wife and baby. It could be just getting some stuff together, I am sure the Canucks would allow him just about anything he wants if they want to re-sign him for the future.
