Elias Pettersson
As simple as can be. One for one. Who will it be? To Winnipeg: Bo Horvat To Vancouver: Pierre-Luc Dubois Dubois and Scheifele both want out. Winnipeg will be desperate to get a centre. Winnipeg is close to London, Ontario. It snows alot in Ontario so BO should be okay in Winnipeg. He can be their new captain too. We get our power forward centre who can play with Miller. If we are dishing out 8x8 contracts, I'd rather give that to Dubois. Yes, he loves Montreal, but he will learn to love Vancouver too...
timberz21
Wouldn't risk it. Dubois wants out, but he's also making it clear he wants to be UFA as well. So chance of re-signing him are slim. And Winnipeg is basically half way between Vancouver and London. It's closer, but still pretty far.
Nucker 67
It's nice for a player to play near home, but it's not that important - unless you're Conor Bedard Jets are playing really well right now, leading the Central. Why would they disrupt that?
Oregon.Duck
maybe for a sign and trade... PLD seems to have settled down on the rhetoric he had at the previous org, of wanting out. He may have matured and may not be a locker room liability. We'd probably need assurances that he'd stick around.

Dreaming more rumours Dubois will either sign with Jets or hope for trade to Montreal. Why would jets trade anybody they are a top 5 team 100% no key players being moved.. They never made trades in the summer so will not make trades now.. They will add a couple of players at trade deadline .. Dubois 24 - 6'3 - 218 lbs -- C/ W-- Jets will want to lock this player up bright future..
Darius
Any player that gets traded has to be with an end goal to fix the defence. Either free up cap to go towards defence, get draft picks that can be combined to be traded for defence, or get a young d man with upside. Swapping out forwards for more forwards will not fix the travesty on the back end. Bo Horvat, should have been a priority over miller, but if he is traded will be our biggest trade chip and best chance to fix the defence relatively quickly. What will Dubois do to fix this team? Will he even be an upgrade on Bo?
Devron
I approve because I feel like there’s a good chance he’s traded anyway. Dubois is basically a younger version.

Will he even be an upgrade on Bo? Dubois is the same age as Petey. So you lock him up for 8 years and he becomes part of the young core. You also get much bigger in your top 6. It probably doesn’t happen, but if Dubois was offered for Horvat I would do it in a heartbeat if he was willing to sign long term. I’d even add a sweetener like Rathbone to make it work. Yes, we need to fix the defence. But I think the defensive issues are systemic and not due just because of the actual players on defence. I think the whole team defensive structure needs to change first before we go out and get new Dmen. Finding a new 2C to play behind Petey will be just as difficult as finding a new partner for Hughes really.

Moving Bo would create a big hole at C and Dubois would fill that and maybe would be a long term improvement. I think we need two top 4 dmen (at least) and probably a solid bottom pair guy too. If Miller isnt going to be moved the quickest way I see of filling that is to use the best available trade chip if they do actually trade him. At the end of the day, its going to take some good moves to better the team (obviously lol)

Exactly, if we are trading Bo for help on defence, we are fixing one hole and creating another hole in our 2c. Bo is our best trade chip to fix the defence though. If Dubois has his attitude together and extend, I would do the deal. Edited December 9, 2022 by Boknows08

That’s one guy. Another guy to look at would be Cal Foote. He’s still young enough to improve and can be a long term fix on the 2nd pairing. Not sure Tampa has the cap space to re-sign him so we can make him a good offer. Kevin Bahl is another guy I like who can play on the 3rd pairing. New Jersey has Luke Hughes and Simon Nemec coming in so I doubt they have room for Bahl. He’s also a local boy so he’d definitely want to play in Vancouver. You add Zub, Foote and Bahl along with a new defensive structure and I think we will see great improvement in the D at not a huge cost. Dubois up front and re-sign Kuzmenko and trade Boeser for Rasmussen, another local boy. All of a sudden we have one of the bigger teams in the league, we get much younger and our future looks bright.
Bobby James
I'd trade for Dubois but he has to agree to an extension beforehand. As many have said it is a lot of risk for a guy that has publicly stated he wants to play in Montreal.

higgyfan
I don't think Bo would sign with the Jets. He will have so many options; including teams that are much closer to contending for the cup. That's the problem with getting full value in a Bo trade. He's a UFA at the end of the season and is free to go wherever he wants. I think it would be easier to trade Miller, as the buyer knows that he gets him beyond this season. I know some fans have a lot of criticism towards JT's game, but he can bring a lot to a contending team. He's at least a pt a game player, but he is also a leader with tremendous passion for the game. He would be a beast in the playoffs. After 2 full 82 game seasons, I expect the salary cap to go up next season, which will make Millers contract easier to absorb by a team. It seems that the management have a preference for JT, but I do hope that if a trade is offered, they have a good look at it. I wish that both players could continue on the roster, but I just don't see how that can happen with the current roster salary cap.

That’s similar to what the Avs did moving ROR and Duchene.

JeremyCuddles
I'd do Boeser for PLD, although I highly doubt they'd want a winger. Guy stated already he intends on exploring FA. Seems like management doesn't care about Boeser. So trade him for cap flexibility and a okay center that we may keep or that we aren't sad to see walk. As for Horvat for PLD. No. Losing our 30 goal captain for nothing is ugly.
