Popular Post OldFaithfulCap
Media: TV: Sportsnet Pacific, Espn/Hulu (USA) THEY RETURN! - nope : ( Radio: Sportsnet 650 Overview The Canucks kick off a 3-game homestand against Western Conference rivals with a visit from the Jets. A win against long standing foes Calgary helped removed some of the bitter taste of the Minnesota game but the Canucks did need some Kuzmenko creativity and martin magnificence in the shootout to get it done. Vancouver defeated the Jets in all 3 games last year but this year Winnipeg's new coach is former Canucks assistant coach Rick Bowness. Bowness's teams are known for defence and since his time in Vancouver his teams are generally in the top 10 of goals against including this season. Connor Hellebuyck is likely to start in net based on past patterns and he boasts a gaa of 2.39. Winnipeg is a very consistent team, having lost no more than 2 games in a row all year and just broke a 2 game losing streak against Nashville. For the Canucks, Curtis Lazar skated on the top line last game and at this early stage it would seem that he might stay there. With Pettersson and Boeser both in doubt due to a virus who plays or is dressed will be a topic of debate. Hoglander was aggressive on the forecheck last game and Dries scored a timely goal so it might be tough to sit them. Lane Pederson was recalled from Abby. He's had a great AHL season (17g, 7a in 18 games) but has a lot to prove at the NHL level having scored in his debut and not in the 43 games since. One strange stat is that Rick Bowness is win-less against the Canucks as a head coach, going all the way back to 1991-92 with the Bruins. Records are made to be broken however but hopefully it doesn't happen this game. I didn’t watch a single Canucks game for the entirety Schmidt was a Canuck which I believe was the 2020-2021 season. Was he that bad? Why did we trade him again?
Canucks Curse
Petey sick? Dermott on 4th line? tbh with his speed and skill he may be a better forward lol, although he is probably just place holding now but if he can take contact maybe this is progress?
