[discussion] Horvat to FLA

Help me out here folks. Piggybacking off of @HKSR posted link

Could the Canucks acquire Lundell from FLA?

What sort of package would it take to make a fair deal?

I would consider it a huge win if they could pry Lundell out.

Bo for Lundell + Bennett?  Does that cap balance?  Would be a great deal for us, no?  Totally unfair?

Im just curious Alf, if FLA required you add for that deal would u still do it?

I havnt really looked at FLAs cap situ going forward/curious if its doable for them

I wouldn’t add.  But I really like Lundell.  So maybe switch Bennett with a different player to balance the cap?

Florida’s nuked pretty much all of their futures over the last couple of years so I highly doubt that 1) They’d move Lundell and 2) They have what we’d want for Horvat.

Yeah Ive looked at that too. They are a ballsy kind of team tho so I do wonder if prime Horvat would really appeal to them/help thrm get out of a tough E. conference…..Barkov/Horvat/Reinhart or Bennet is very attractive C depth..

Lundell is a very attractive piece but why would they be interested in Horvat?  They're good down the middle and have ZERO cap space

I just wonder if they go all in on winning while they have Barkov/Tkachuk up front.  Horvat w/Reinhart would be another tough line to match up against.

Lundell would be extremely tough to give up but hard to argue with having Horvat in his prime on your team.

well that was kind of the point of it being a [discussion] to see what is possible.  Can/would FLA move contracts to make it work? Buying out Bobrovsky if they cant move him would be about 4mill in cap relief/more if the Canucks take a contract back.

Just spitballing here

I'd do Horvat for Lundell 1-for-1.

But Florida isn't going to trade a young player with contract control for a pending UFA even if they had the cap space to accommodate Horvat.

I think the right team to trade with is a team that has a surplus of a young defenceman.

I would take Lundell and Luostarinen for Horvat. We need to raise our Finnish quota.

Wonder if that price might be too steep, when Luostarinen's been up in the top-6 while Barkov was out which tells me that they see promise in him (and he has been scoring some).  I'd like to add him too but don't think it's realistic.  For cap purposes (and somewhat for RD positional need), I could see Lundell + Gudas, or Lundell + Hornqvist (he's on LTIR but when he returns, hopefully we can flip him at the TDL, since grinding types of his type tend to be pretty valuable).

That team has so many solid top-9 two-way centers, they're probably the last team who needs Bo. They've got Barkov who is still a PPG player and he's having an off-season, Bennett,Reinhart and Verhaeghe not to mention this guy Luostarinen and Lundell.

Ekblad's having his career-worst season. Swap of captains 1-for-1 who does it?

I'd do it in a heart beat. Even if we have to add Rathbone or a 1st.
