Horvat to Columbus , Roslovic to Washington (Proposals)

Recommended Posts

Ok.........if we can get better, sure go ahead, but this is just a thought

Trade #1

Horvat and Garland to Columbus

for

Ceulemans, 2023-2nd, Roslovic, and Nyquist to Vancouver

Trade #2

Roslovic

for

Washington's 2023 1st

First off, we do not need Roslovic , wrong type of player for us, but Washington needs youth while they are still competing. (Their 1st does not help them soon enough). and Secondly, I think we can sign a 3rd line center with positive F/0 percentage in the UFA market, that more fits our needs. With Nyquist, we can move him for a pick at the TDL or just let his contract run out at the end of the year. Miller moves into the 2nd line center spot for a year or 2.

Columbus does this to acquire a solid center to go with Laine and Gaudreau, (I think they draft a Center this year, who is 2/3 years away, so Horvat fits in great). Garland is an energy guy, but has dropped in play a little. (I think Garland and Roslovic are pretty much equal, but Roslovic has a shorter contract, but is less defensive).

I like roslovic more than a first and that trade also does not help us with our right side d now

For a $4 million AAV center who might end up as a tweener C/ wing (and who likely becomes depth after Johnson/ Jenner come back and take the top-6 C spots), I'm not sure I'd rather keep him, when 2023 is supposed to be a deep draft.  We could definitely used the asset selected by the pick.

good point, we do lack C depth, I am sick of seeing an Ahl 4th line or 3/4C when we get one injury... he does kill penalties... but on CBJ..

Well, actually it does, because it frees up cash for the summer..........I don't think we are fix in 1 or 2 moves, but we need that cap space before anything can happen.
