[Proposal] Trade Deadline + Draft

Recommended Posts

Before I make my proposal, there are only three ways that the Canucks get Bedard.

1. Canucks win draft lottery

2. Bedard pulls a Lindros to come to Vancouver

3. Vancouver signs him as a UFA in 2030/31 (take into consideration a possible lockout between now & then)

Now for the proposal...

To NYR:

Bo Horvat (50% retained salary), NYR 2023 4th (from the Motte trade) + VAN 2024 6th

To VAN:

Alex Lafreniere + NYR 2023 2nd

To PIT:

Connor Garland + Luke Schenn (30% retained salary)

To VAN:

Kaspari Kapanen + NJD 2023 3rd (from Marino Trade)

To MIN:

Brock Boeser & Kyle Burroughs (50% retained salary)

To VAN:

Matt Dumba + MIN 2023 4th

At the draft, assuming we pick 7th overall, where we are in the standings right now:

To whomever has the 1st OA:

Alex Lafreniere, Jonathan Lekkerimaki, VAN 2023 1st (7th OA), NYR 2023 2nd, NJD 2023 3rd, and VAN 2024 1st

To VAN:

2023 1st overall to get Bedard

It will probably take Pettersson starting to get 1st overall, even then doubt it be traded.

Dumba would help accelerate the tank, and his cap does come off the books.

If a 2nd was really offered for Luke last season TDL, then I think we should have no problem getting that this szn. Would rather go that route and keep Garland for now.

I don't understand the continual trade proposals sending Boeser to MIN for Dumba. MIN mgmt have been reported as saying they are not interested in Boeser on their team. I know Boeser is from MIN, but they don't want him.

They also can't afford him. They have $16m in cap space next season and will need to sign another 9 players (including a replacement top 4 RD for Dumba, a significant raise for Boldy, and a raise/replacement for Freddy Gaudreau).

Minnesota management cannot publicly comment on having other teams’ players without getting reprimanded by the league, So any such “reported” comment is made up craperolla.

Russo is a reporter - not a columnist.  He only shares what he has been able to confirm.

Teams can tell media who can then share without disclosing their sources.  Anyone following the Wild know that Russo and Guerin are really tight.  Russo can even call up Guerin directly to get him to attend a live podcast with fans in attendance and by-pass the Wild's PR team.

Guerin blew a gasket this off-season where he got so mad about some fake rumours and threw out a "they are full of crap".   Russo tweeted that Guerin called him straight after the radio segment to let him know that he's obviously not the one he's taking a shot at.  Guerin went on the radio the next day to confirm that Russo is definitely not part of "they" and went on to sign off on Russo as someone that can be trusted.
