Not sure how much a player with 13 points, making $7 million (I know cap hit shrinks relevant to percentage of season completed) and is a -77 over the last 4 seasons is going to bring in a trade

Pickzzzzz

If Klingberg has positive trade value (meaning not having to give up additional assets to move him) than Myers does as well.

Yes. I agree. Please dear Gord, may it be so.

But signing guys to one year deals and trading them sets a bad precedent or something and scares off free agents..

:bigblush:

I agree totally overblown trading a 1 year contract is just the name of the game if a gm did this every 2 or 3 years no biggie.

its when gms get a reputation of doing this over and over every single year, it could possibly become a bad precedent.

Myers has the caveat of having one more year on his deal. Klingberg can have his contract retained. Not that it really helps. Dude is Del Zotto, without the top tier DJ work.

Ducks have oodles of cap space and will almost certainly retain 50% of his cap hit

Klingberg has enough of a track record when it comes to producing offense that'd he'd be worthwhile to someone  at 3.5M pro-rated

They both do, but yes, they're very similar players. Can't believe how many people wanted him here given how poor of a fit Myers is on this roster.

Exact opposite of the type of dman this team needs.

Anyone here think it's better to have OEL than Klingberg? Or that having Klingberg would be just as bad as having OEL? :picard:

OEL hasn't been bad. His contract is bad. But if he were at 6mil I don't think many of us would be as mad. Well, you'd probably still be mad. Seems like a portion of the fanbase only knows how to be angry.

Klingberg is on a 1year contract.  So no. Not really comparable

Horvat + Kuzmenko + 1st for Klingberg

That's an unprotected 2023 first because this team just needs some structure and tweaks and it's a top ten team of course.

Plus, Klingberg is Swedish and he'll gel with OEL and bring out the best in each other and Pettersson while given the kids a good mentor for 5.5 weeks

So after last night. Henrique is reportedly available as well as Klingberg. Silfverberg is up and the ask is high but retention is possible

The ducks WILL be picking 3-5 times in the first 3 rounds again this year and next year

Since 2019 they've done that no less than 4 times with 6 first round picks, 5 second round picks and 3m3 third round picks.

THAT is without mentioning that they have three 2nd round picks and 2 third round picks this year and two seconds next year alone without making a single move at this point.

Damn...
