Hawks win!

Very good tank night.

Hawks and Canadiens win.

Ducks lose to the Flyers but that’s fine because it keeps them ahead of us.

Blue Jackets lose but I never thought theyd beat the Preds anyways.

Just need a Yotes OT win and I’ll be very tankful.

Today’s society is a bunch of snowflakes.

Who really gives a flying crap if he doesn’t want to display his support to the LGBT community, it’s his choice. It’s not like he’s flaunting to the world that he’s anti-LGBT.

And before people say I’m part of the problem. I have a few gay people I hang around, but they don’t think less of me, because I refuse to wear a Pride shirt, when attending the Pride parade.

You’re not paid to represent a billion dollar organization that’s the difference. ;)

That’s exactly what he’s doing by making that stand. If he were indifferent to it then it wouldn’t matter.

People like you are part of the problem because they turn a blind eye to hate and intolerance. That’s exactly how it creeps back into society.

It has nothing to do with your cutesy little snowflake word it has to do with being an evolved society.

Jackets outplayed tf out of the Preds, their backup goalie was unbelievable tonight.

Yea that’s the good news.

I think the Jackets are too good to be this bad. I think some teams will start taking them lightly and hopefully they get some wins.

Why does it matter if he’s represented by a billion dollar company? He’s one voice out of 600+ voices.

He’s also not turning a blind eye of hate. He’s honouring his beliefs, whether it’s the right moral or not. It’s not you or anyone else to decide it’s right for him.

If my friends, who are apart of the community, doesn’t have a problem with my decision not to display my support. Why should you or anyone else, whose NOT apart of the community have the right to judge me?

Again, if he’s outright spewing his displeasure of the LGBT to the world. Then sure, you can say something about it, but he’s not.

It matters because, yes he does have the right to his beliefs, but the Flyers also have the right to not play him or want him to be part of their organization. Just like every other team.

They have a larger fan base and a set of morals and conduct they have to stand by too. Homophobia is not something they want to represent.

And before you say he doesn’t hate guy people, please educate yourself on what they do to gay people in Russia. This is a hate thing and not a religious belief. Supporting people who kill and imprison gay people just because of their lifestyle is not okay. You passing it off as freedom is adding to the problem.

They played him tonight, anyway. There’s your logic of setting standards for the organization, goes the window.

Protesting wearing a pride shirt/jersey to support the community ≠ homophobic. There are plenty of Russians people currently living in Russia who have no problem with the LBGT community, but aren’t able speak up because of politics, in fear of the government. That doesn’t mean they’re homophobic.

Yep Torts made that decision. We’ll see what conversations are happening behind closed doors though. I imagine the NHL doesn’t like that look when they’re promoting inclusiveness.

Actually that’s exactly what that is. He’s promoting a religion that is openly homophobic, and supports jailing and killing gay people.

I’m sure in early Nazi days they were looking the other way too. Like it’s not that bad, he doesn’t actually kill Jews he just hates them. Like holy crap some people are clueless to how bad it is for gay people over there. Not standing up to that makes you just as bad.

Hes not afraid of the government, they’re not gonna do anything to him for wearing a rainbow jersey. Like people are calling for Russians to speak out about Putin but are perfectly fine spreading veiled homophobia in the name of religion. :picard:

These social issues are a big challenge.  Both sides have a point the pride community should be welcomed in any NHL rink and it’s fair to want players of all races, cultures and orientation welcomed and represented in the league if they have the ability to play.  On the other hand if a players Religious belief isn’t aligned to Pride is it reasonable to put them on the wrong side of their Religion?  It’s easy to say just skate a lap in the Jersey but I’m not a religious person so It’s difficult to comprehend for me the internal conflict that might create.  Given the negative press that was bound to be incurred I think it’s fair to say it’s more than just Provorov being a homophobe as it would have been easier to go with the flow.  Shame the controversy took away from what would have otherwise been a positive night for Flyers and Pride.
