DeNiro Posted January 15, 2023 Share Posted January 15, 2023 I remember when fans were claiming that the trade for him was a steal (Bernier + 3rd) and that Yzerman was a genius. Turns out it wasn’t so great. I was thinking we needed another goalie but he doesn’t really fit the bill. I’d rather try and sign another 24-25 year old big Swedish or Finnish goalie. In 2021-22, he was one of the best rookies in the NHL with a .932 save percentage in 59 games. In the combined two years since then, he's below .900. Not saying this is the answer but we need to try and limit goals against to like 3,4 or something per game. Can’t believe I’d ever be okay with that but this is where we are.
