I hope they really do it, if anyone deserves to be in the ROH it's Gino who was a literal warrior for this team. It also would be a beautiful final send off. RIP Gino.

Popular Post -DLC-
I have some stories about Gino I'd like to share (again). The first one involved my lovely mother (may she rest in peace). She was a huge Canucks fan...I inherited all my homerism from her. True blue fan...thick and thin. She was also a poker player her entire life...she was good. Won $$ playing. Back in the day they had "social clubs" which were basically poker rooms in the back of businesses. She'd had her stroke and would hobble in with her cane...someone would always rush to make her a cup of tea to go with her smoke (everyone smoked back then). Most who were new to the table thought they'd clean her out....saw weakness. What a mistake. So one day the game was in the back of the Skystage at the Skyline Hotel in Richmond. She was seated next to a young fellow who, in her description, was awful at poker. Getting fleeced. Didn't really know what he was doing, so she started helping him along. She always had a soft spot for underdogs. It came time for Mom to go and Dad came in to walk her out to the car, as usual. As they drove away, Mom started telling Dad about the guy who sucked so badly at poker. She felt bad for him. It was then that Dad said "don't you know who that was? That was Gino!". Mom was SO disappointed that she hadn't taken notice of WHO she was helping, she LOVED Gino. He'd been seated right beside her so she didn't get a good look at him...would've been rude. But she always loved that she got to teach Gino poker..."he was good at hockey but he sure was terrible at the poker table". Dad still talks about it to this day..... 7 1
-DLC-
That day we learned Gino was in the hospital....and a huge crowd showed up to chant GINO GINO. He came to the window and waved and next thing we knew, he was being wheeled out in his wheelchair to greet everyone! He was such a brave warrior.
Canuckle2017
So saddened by the news. He was not only a warrior on the ice but also a warrrior in the community service world. He made sure he gave as much back as he had received. Constantly doing charity work and helping out at kids camps. You will be missed!! Lucky enough my TB tics had not sold and immediately pulled the listing. Can’t wait to make it reign Gino Gino Gino on Weds. The very least we can do for someone that is so iconic in our Canucks history. Gino Gino Gino!!! 1
-DLC-
I was invited to a Lions game and had to turn it down (was sick and, during COVID, not cool to go into public places with a fever). My friend (an old mod friend of ours from here) sent me a picture of our seats...Gino was sitting beside them. I was so disappointed I had to miss the game...and a chance to hang out with Gino. Another time, a female friend and I went to the Rio to see Ice Guardians. Gino was there (with his buddy)...they were greeting people as they came in the door. As Jeanette and I entered, they said to the guys they were chatting with "there are ladies here now guys, gotta move on" and they greeted us so warmly. Had a good conversation before the show started...it was just super casual and Gino was always so down to earth. Just one of us. Snapped a few pics with him and will treasure them. (He was also in a dunk tank way back when at the Canucks carnival...my son thought that was a hoot). So many Gino memories...we lost a good one today. A really good one. 2023 is awful so far...so much heartache. Seriously.
awalk
Chanting GINO at the games was some of the best times. Best crowds. Miss those times. We miss ya, Gino. 3

86Viking
Man this one is hitting me hard, loved how Gino Odjick played the game. He was so important to the Canucks and bonding with Pavel Bure and being one of his best friends was just icing on the cake. RIP Gino, your a legend in my eyes! Gone far too soon...
