RetroCanuck
We are not a contender right now. Need to be selling high on assets while we can instead of resigning to these ones we always seem to regret. Therefore, Kuzmenko+ Schenn for 2023 1st Puljujarvi 2024 2nd 2025 3rd
Phil_314
As long as we can just sell them as pending free agents (don't permit the Oilers to talk to them before trading them, or you'd be helping the enemy) I'd be down; that is quite the haul to be getting back (they can keep Puljujarvi though, I don't think he'll reach his potential at this rate, and he'd come at a pricey QO when we don't need more pricey, underachieving wingers). Puljujarvi balances the cap. I don’t think he has much trade value right now. Considering he’s playing with some highly elite players he should have more points. He might succeed here and that’d be great but his next contract will be low. I see Kuzmenko being worth a 1st+ and Schenn a 2nd+ so an added third and Puljujarvi seems fair

If he can't produce with 97/ 29 you'll have a tough time convincing anyone that he'll do better with Petey (I'd rather wait and see if the Oil even qualify him or if they want to give him a fresh start as a UFA, which if they do then I'd be open to signing him for league minimum to see what he has to offer). Unless we can flip his rights for another pick, I don't see why we should take him on as a project when we already should find space for Hoglander/ Podkolzin next year. Tons of guys hit higher potentials once traded. Plus he’s more in the power forward mild so better chance he develops later. but as I said he’s not the main piece of this trade but adds allows cap compliance and some potential value
IBatch
Got the right idea but the wrong team. Isn't the "late great" Steve Staois the high water mark for a trade with EDM? We won't be trading with anyone in our own division unless the return is something amazing...hasn't happened yet anyways.
DownUndaCanuck
Would be so sad seeing a fan fave playing alongside McDavid, ripping us apart scoring 50 goals a year for the next 3 years.
